Guys, it's new tyres time for both my GSXR750k8 and the CBR600. I have dunlop roadsmart on the rear of the honda, so I'm gonna swap this for a sportsmart so that it matches the front.

Now, the GIxer....on all GIXER forums, people are talking about how good the M7RR's, but I don't always believe what I read on there, but always seem to get solid advice here.

So, whose used the M7RR's, how do they compare to the Sportsmarts?

Yeh I can vouch for that, Have only ridden for a few miles on mates K7 750 and they feel well planted and very predictable, great warm up and a very confident feeling tyres, good mileage and not too expensive! Not sure how well they would work on trackdays but as fast road bike all rounder tyre I would highly recommend them. Having run OE sportsmax on other bikes for a short period and was glad to ditch them, that was some time ago but I'm sure they haven't changed! wooden and not confidence inspiring springs to mind....hope that helps

Cheers @Dave dunlop , can't decide if to choose them over the sportsmarts.... Won't be doing track days on the Gixer, it's too loud.

I had the sportsmart 2's before the M7's Jay.

Very decent tyre and last the miles too. Feedback wise the M7's pip it though.

If I was in the market for new tyres at the moment it would be between the M7's and the PR4's.

Only thing that put me off the PR4's last time was the tread pattern. Though that wouldn't bother me anymore.

The M7RR are the best tyres I've used, transformed the bike for me. Loads of grip and feel, gave me so much more confidence hard on the brakes and when cornering.

I swore by the Sportsmart for years I ranted and raved about them!
Then last year I gave the M7rr's a whirl and I was blown away by the feel of them! It's like a pair of really comfortable slipper on your Blade! It feels like every road has been resurfaced just for you but with all the grip, feedback and confidence of the Dunlop's and then some! They steer quicker too! To me it feels like you get a free suspension upgrade when you fit the M7rr's!

Truly awesome the best hoops I've ever used!!!....;);):D:D

what sort of miles as an average can you expect out of the m7rr on a commute or would that be the wrong tyre for that?

I guess it depends on your commute, but generally speaking i don't think there are too many folk would describe a blade as a commuter

yes its a sports bike but doesn't mean it can only be used as such! fella's on here who do 100 plus miles a day on blades without the 2-3k in 10 days touringin the summer and i bet they use a sports touring tyre for that!

M7RR are the dogs and running them now. Had Dunlop 211Gp's before that and Sportsmarts before that.

Loving the M7 at the mo

I put the M7rr's on mine April last year and although a novice they give me every confidence in both tipping in and breaking, will need a new rear again in April mind so that will be about 2200 miles on them. I'm only doing road miles but the tyre worn fairly evenly from edge to edge. Excellent in the wet as well. Will be using them again.

Only 2200 miles? Have managed more out of Pirelli DRC's! I thought these were sports touring tyres?

Yea 2200 miles is pretty low.
We did a 2000 mile tour of the Pyrineese mountains and weren't hanging around.

I reckon on top of that about another 1000 miles with some left on my current rear. I'd expect 3500 miles out of a rear M7.

If it's miles your after and a great all round tyre then personally I'd be looking at the PR4's. Nearly as much grip on the dry as the M7's, but superb in the wet and the mileage you get out of the PR4's is bordering on insane.
