Im having trouble removing the clips at the base of the faring. From 1.48 secs He skips past it too quickly in the video. I got the screws out but the bottom clips wont budge. Has anyone got any tips or tricks for teasing the clips out without breaking them? I want to get the faring off to fit some r and g not cut frame sliders. Cheers all
Yes, the belly panel needs to sort of move upwards and rearward at the same time. It will just sort of unhook itself off the left and right mid fairings. Imagine the mid fairings staying still and the belly pan unhooking off them. Don't try and unclip the mid fairings from the belly pan, its the other way round.
First step to remove any of the fairings is to remove the lower fairing (belly pan) entirely. So remove the 4 bolts on the belly pan then do the backwards/upwards movement at the front directly below the radiator that I described above. That will get the belly pan off.
I think you're a lot more likely to brake tabs off if you try to remove the mid fairings with the lower fairing still bolted in place.
That video does not mention this at all and thats about the only helpful one on the net. I will give it another go tomorrow as i packed up before i broke something today!
Hi mate, i bailed today, just too cold in the garage. Still a bit nervious about it but will give it a go removing the belly pan first when it warms up a bit. Its not as if i'm going anywhere on the bike tbh. All i want to do is fit these R and G frame sliders. I fitted a carbon chain guard yesterday which was something, love a bit of carbon. oh and my new dark visor got delivered today which was a bonus. Did you do anything to your bike?
No mate, I tend to do all my winter work straight away at the end of the season in November. For better or worse that leaves me with nothing to do and pining for the bike for the next 4 months .
Hello Charlie, success. Have no idea how i got the belly pan back on it just seemed to bind together. Thanks for the advice it did help.
