Does anyone run the Sportsmarts on their blade? If so how many miles can I expect to get to a set? I'm doing a scotland and europe trip this year so I'm looking for 5K miles really including weekend rides. If anyone has tried the roadsmart 2s on the blade and can give some feedback on those that would be appreciated too. Cheers
Sportsmarts lasted me 3k but that included 3 trackdays. They still had life in them and I sold them on as I wanted to go for some GPD211 for track and road. They were great on track, road and touring. Great in wet or dry. And lasted longer than any other tyres I have used in the past from bridgestones, Dunlops, Michelin Plus loads of thread about the Sportsmarts so worth searching for more info
Cheers remal, do you think they would last as far as 5K tho? A bloke I spoke to at transits in York said I should go for the RS2's because the SS's would only last 2-3k
As I said they lasted me 3k with touring and trackdays. and now my mates running them and they are still legal All depends how you ride. if it's communing and touring they should last 5k. but harder tyres may be less grip? Unsure if thats true
I'm getting pilot road 3s next. Mate of mine has done track days, commutes and fast road rides and has 10k on his set all on a 2008 blade!
Another vote for pr3's. I've heard lots of gleaming reviews of Sportsmarts too. I'd like to try the Roadsmart 2's. Heard they're fabulous.
Going for the RS2s i think! Will update when I've given em some stick! Hopefully when they've given me some too...
That sounds unbelievable mileage for tyres on a Blade, I will have to try a set! I've been running Pilot Power 2CTs for the last few years and get approx 2000 miles out of a back and 4000 miles out of a front (and that is just road use, not track)
I got 4,233 miles on my Blade,Some long and hard blasts in that and then commuting and few blasts tru the winter.Fantastic in the wet so much so you didnt even mind the roads were wet.You just need to let them warm up and then away you go.I probably could of got a few more miles outa them but my MOT was coming up so put on a new one Again.
Over 5000 miles on my Sportsmarts and counting!! Still a good 2000miles left I'd say. That's with a 1400-ish mile trip across the continent and the rest has been weekend riding both wet and dry. Minimal commuting but even that is back roads and decent twisties in places. Go for them mate - they'll manage your tour distance easily. Compared to the Brisgestone S20s where I got 2500miles out of a rear they're superb in terms of mileage and offer loads of grip both in the wet and dry Sam
