There's also no legal requirement to face a cliff edge when approaching it. Doesn't make it a good idea!
IMHO only a fool would ride a road bike with no mirrors! Gota be not right in the head to take vanity over safety even if U R single with no dependents or family to take in to consideration.
move yer elbow, quick check for cars with blue lights, clutch in - revs - clutch out why else would you want to have mirrors on a bike
I rigged up a rear view camera on my 600 years ago, with a 4.5inch screen mounted above the speedo. Wide angle camera gave a great rear view, better than the mirrors. Ditched it cos it wasn't a waterproof kit and I got bored of playing with the idea but it's something that would work fine with the proper equipment if you're willing to sink a few hundred into it
