Hi, anyone else experienced a "mournful" moaning sound coming from their fuel filler cap. Noticed it today after a 40 mile run out. When I stopped the bike there was a moaning sound coming every 5 to 10 secs from the bike.

When I studied it further it was coming from the fuel filler cap. When I open the cap there was a release in pressure and a whooshing sound and the moaning stopped.

Anyone else experienced this? good or bad?

My 2014 has done this since new, nothing that concerns me.

Have a look at the vent/overflow pipes under the tank have not be trapped n crimped or blocked off by something.

+ 1 for the vent pipes being blocked

I'd have a look at that sooner rather than later - if the vents are blocked, the fuel pump will be having to create a vacuum when pumping the fuel out which isn't so good.

If it's 2014 RRE model on, don't waste your time looking at pipes etc.

Honda went to a different vent system on the tank due to emissions laws, the noise is to totally normal and as designed

If it's an earlier model, then get your hands dirty.

My previous 15 plate & new current blade make the same venting sounds from the tank after a run.
Sounds like a 'growl'. Even long after engine switch off.
    Very normal as mentioned.

    Phew!!

I should have said it was a 14MY RRE. Its been doing it for a while now so I didn't think it was anything serious. Never happened on my 09 model so was a little concerned.

Thanks guys glad to be part of a knowledgeable forum!

The first time I heard it, I thought something was still running, did a bit of investigation into it to find out it was normal. But weird the first time you hear it

I have the same on my RR-E, as does a mate with the same model Blade.
