    Does anyone here have any opinions on what kind of mobile phone mount/holder is good for the 2004 CBR1000RR?

    I want to get one that can do the following
    * Resist snatch and run theft
    * Rotate 90 degrees
    * Quick to insert/remove

    Any recommendations?

    I think something like this would be good. It says it fits CBR1000RR 2004.
    Obviously they just spam their product. I'll check the diameter of the handlebar etc.

    Ultimate addons did a boss one for me. If it's an iPhone 5-5s you I've got a spare one you'll just need the ram mount.

    Thanks guys @Greco your link didn't work mate.

    @1000rrboyjay I've got Galaxy S5 at the moment, but I'm in South Africa mate.

    To get started I just bought this cheap thing on ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/302030581222 Size XL It looks okay. I'll probably have to macguyver my own arm which will involve some cutting, screwing, cable tieing, glueing on the back of the cheap holder, and maybe a custom clamp because space on the handlebar is very limited.

    I'm into electronics so I also bought the little battery insert for wireless charging, and I bought a wireless charging pad. I'll try hack the charging pad into the back of the phone holder so my phone can wirelessly charge while it's in there. I'm into electronics.
    I've also bought some waterproof USB ports and a waterproof voltmeter.
    So I'll post my install when I do it.

    I will try and get a photo tonight mate of all the parts i bought for my 2007. I havent got the chance to put them on yet so i have them in pieces

    If i remember correctly i have a universal rubbery type smartphone holder, m6 threaded rubber ball to fit on my Hiss panel (tank area) and an extension arm to connect the two together.

    No worries. Will you have the space on your bars for that?

    It looks like I've got about 10mm of space on my left handlebar, where I could clamp it. It will need an arm going up to the middle, Made out of aluminium or something. But I'm concerned that an arm with a lot of horizontal length is going to vibrate a lot and then I won't be able to read the screen.

    I bought a RAM mount for my Garmin GPS. I clamped it to my VFR400 handlebar and then later clamped it to a Bajaj Pulsar 180 handlebar. (downgrades are depressing hahah)
    I've still got the Garmin mount.

    I'm not sure if I want to sell my Garmin GPS or not.
    It's an old model Nuvi 3010 or something from 2007ish.
    It's nice that it has a resistive screen. It works with pressure, not capacitance so it can be pressed with your baby finger with leather gloves. Although the software for examining the map sucks badly.
    It's nice that it has the speed camera warnings (google maps doesn't have). I also like that it reads the road names to me (nice for learning road names "Turn left into blah blah st") but my software is VERY outdated and the battery needs replacement. (not user serviceable)
    So I will only keep it if I can take it for an update AND they can remove the speed beeps and trapping area beeps. Those are really annoying. I just want to know where the cameras are.

    I could make my mobile phone's touch screen work better by putting 2 metal studs in my thumb and index fingers of my leather gloves, then I can accurately click, pinch-rotate and pinch-zoom.

    Since I discovered that my Galaxy S5 will read my finger through the leather glove (if I touch with the flat thin part of the glove, innacurate) I'm less keen to keep the Garmin.

    @Greco Thanks for the pics! I will be very interested to see some step by step pics of your installation of that. I'm very curious where that vertical piece goes.

    Many people used the verical ram mount kit on the steering damper. They replaced one of the bolts to fit the system.
    I did try to fit something similar to your sytem on the handlebar but it was a bit tight turning the bike as it was touching the screen. I think the ideal position is somewhere in the middle. Many guys mount the cameras there for track days

    I've just received one of these for iPhone 6. Seems pretty sturdy and well made. Can access all the buttons, headphone and charger socket.
    It does come with a handle bar mount (probably for a bicycle), but I'm going to check out the ram mount kit.
