Model year

Hi all. My nephew has just purchased a 2010 Blade (red/black).
I didn't know the year (sent me a photo of the front/side only) and told him it was an 08 as it has gold engine casings.
Am i right in thinking only the 2008 model year have gold casings?
I think you can tell the model year from the engine number also cant you?
please advise.

Yeah 08 have Gold, sounds like its an 08 but registered in 2010.

 

Anyone remind me how to check the model year from VIN or engine numbers?

 

Not sure but my 09 had gold casings too and the RR8 red/black paint scheme.

 

Type the registration into here - https://www.mycarcheck.com/

That should tell you the model year (e.g. Rr-8).
