Just couldn't resist.... Just bought some gold bobbins and ordered a Renthal gold sprocket kit and DID gold x ring chain for the bike.

Some people suggest DID is a cheap make? I know a lot of people like Tsubaki chains but when I asked my garage they said DID was the best and most widely used. Anyone have any thoughts on that? I'll swap the order to the Tsubaki chains if this is the case as I want the best :)

Ive sold hundreds and used hundreds of DiD chains both in racing and road. DiD ZVM chains are spot on!

I have been looking at a gold Renthal kit and gold Tsubaki chain for mine.. Is it a job for a mechanical novice or the dealers? Depending on how long jobs take, I sometimes don't mind paying just to save the hassle.

I've just bought some pressies too, Tsubaki x ring chain + super sprox + OEM front sprocket, some SS bolts and a Lightech adjuster.

I had a toss up between the Tsubaki and DID, the higher end models are about the same price but went with the Tsubaki because I prefer the logo (which I have to add the chain did not come with a sticker in the box!)

You may have seen my other thread regarding fitting(thanks Arthurbikemad and scooby!) DIDs come with hollow rivets (tsubaki as standard are solid) so DIDs are easier to fit and the tool is significantly cheaper. I now need to purchase a tsubaki specific hollow link to fit my chain. When the weather gets better I'll put a thread together on my progress.

    Cool thanks guys!

I came across this which was pretty cool
Motosport - DID Chain 520 ERV3 X-Ring 120 Links customer reviews - product reviews - read top consumer ratings

I went with what you did Si and kept it standard size. Since fitting the PCV it's already puttin the wheel up at 7k revs. So I think if I was looking at the two options as Mods I'd either drop a tooth on the front sprocket or fit the PCV and stay standard or even go one more. I don't mind the occasional wheelie as I'm not a king at deliberately pullin them so I don't push it.
