Hi all. Recently had my 2019 SP ECU remapped, with all the obligatory emissions parts deletes too.

Pick-up through the gears is definitely smoother than standard, as you’d expect, but I could swear that I’ve noticed that the bike is more vibey (kind of tingly through the bars) at 70mph / 5-6k rpm-ish while on the motorway - I can feel it in my hands through the grips, but if I lightly touch the switch gear for instance it feels really buzzy.

I might very well be going mad and it was doing this exact thing before the remap too, but it’s weird that I’ve only noticed it now.

Is that possible? Could a remap make the engine feel that way? It’s definitely engine by the way as pulling the clutch in at that speed to let the revs drop to idle sees the buzz go away.

    Thoughts on a postcard.

Generally, a remap should make it smoother, as its adding fuel to the maps and making the bike less lean at those speeds.

I'm wondering if you have picked up a misfire.

Hmm… I wouldn’t say it’s running rough - it still sounds the same, but like I say just feels buzzy through the bars and controls, a very high frequency buzz.

Not sure if disabling any of the emissions (PAIR system, etc) could have that effect?

It’s probably just in my head…

So it feels like a Yamaha. They probably advanced the ignition timing the buzz you feel is the trade off.

Oh wow, so an advance in ignition timing could make the bike feel like this? That would probably explain it :-(

Worth having a friendly chat with them, they might be interested in backing it off a touch in the areas that annoy you.

Bloody hell, just reading more in to this. Doesn’t sound particularly good… (if you believe the internets)

I think I’m going to get everything put back to standard as it was before and try it again then.

Thanks for the heads up re: ignition timing - every day is a school day!
