Qatar race seems like a flashback of 2018. What a coincident, even last lap moves of Marc and Dovi have great similarity. Do you expect any change in championship title winner?

I don't see anyone dethroning Marquez.

I believe in Dovi. He just needs a little luck and I think the team took into account all the mistakes of the past season.

I'd really like to see a different winner.
I'd love Rossi to get the Tenth - however unlikely that is on the Yam (unless they pull something amazing out of the engineering/updates)...failing that Dovi would be a worthy champ.

My real choice for the title would be Cal but that just wont happen.

Hmmm. Many said the same of Alex Creville. Only needs a change of fortunes for a couple of riders, and a few more HRC goodies in the LCR team and it's not beyond possibility - barring crashes of course!

There is a big difference between who I would like to win, and who I think will win.

I think Dovizioso will win the 2019 title - I put a £50 bet on him to win @ 5/1

We were all told great things about Lorenzo, a great multiple champion, the dream team - not looking so good now even after just 1 race
Marquez will fight like a tiger to the last - but 2 crashes already after only one race weekend, and another 20 crashes to go, if it will be like last season.

Ducati had new technology - a launch control for the start line, some fairing to cool the rear tyre. If it was not for concerns over tyre management Dovi would have won it by a mile.

Marquez fought hard as usual, and with great skill, determination and brilliance - but he nearly lost the front when chasing Dovi, he saved it but nearly went down.

I think Marquez is up against a well organised, well financed, experienced and determined adversary in Ducati - and Honda cannot win on the basis of a single great rider living on the extreme edge all the time - where falling off at 100 mph, regularly, is a part of your winning strategy.

It aint going to work. And as much as I hate saying this on a Honda forum, and as much as I admire Marquez, I reckon Ducati will win it.

Ducati aren't short of a few quid - they've got the might of the Philip Morris tobacco empire behind them.

It probably is between Dovi and Marquez but it would only take a couple of DNF's from either rider to open the championship out a little. Dovi deserves it before its too late for him but i'd love to see Rossi or Lorenzo win it again!

At least Lorenzo finished the race and has not picked up any further injuries or aggravated his current ones. Apart from the poor result, he is still seriously quick and has that fighting mentality to keep the championship exciting!;)

Info on the MV forum states that Jorge sustained a broken rib as a result of his FP3 fall. Post 55: https://www.mvagusta.net/forum/28-racing/241315-motogp-2-3-qatar-*spoilers*-6.html

Not sure what the source is, but certainly not mentioned in this week's MCN racing roundup.

@Ficticiou5 is that his name?? Posted a link in the MotoGP main thread regarding Lorenzos rib injury, sounds minor and shouldn't affect him in Argentina say's the man himself! :)

Yeah, Paul, I saw that after I posted the above and couldn't be damned deleting this or making comment on the other. You're right though, ribs would not ordinarily affect a rider, especially if bound up and supplemented by a couple of jabs of Cortisone.

It will prob be marc .I'd be happy with dovi and I must confess I have been shouting at tv in encouragement for him. I'd love vale to get a 10th but think its a fairy tail and of course cal would be amazing but I think the repsol boss's wont want a castrol bike taking away their title.

I hope Marquez wins just to show Rossi
Rossi has pi##ed me off moaning about the antics of Marquez forgetting what he has got up too to get where he is.
And Marquez being so young and never giving up and his crashing makes him even more exciting to watch

I think thats all part of the way rossi trays to get into people's heads a bit . He knows marc had him up on his bedroom wall ect and I think digs to put the my hero questions my style doubt in . I don't think it works on track and I don't think rossi does its for when he's training or having a meal ect its the unconscious thought stealing. That can affect a man .
