After yesterdays carnage and the various crashes that happen (mainly on the first lap/bend)on some tracks , is it time now to get rid of those dangerous chicanes .I don't watch F1 but i saw a snippitt on the news were the drivers were praising the new track in India. Any comments gents?
I was upset when they started adding safety chicanes to the classic tracks like Monza and shouted down the explanations of the cars being so much faster that they needed to protect the drivers. My thoughts were 'drive slower'. I'm a bit older now and therefore a bit more in touch with my own mortality. The problem with the chicanes is that it takes one second of banzai and 4 guys rather than 1 are desparately not trying to stay with their bikes. Especially this week
I can't name the tracks but every year the commentators say (I hope they all get round ok after last year)and yet bingo down they go, some going home injured .
