Welcome to Railsavers - Leading Motorail SpecialistsWelcome to Railsavers

Seen details of this company today - just had a quick look and for doing a 'week trip' its quite a good idea and prices look good.
They have some special offers which appear to make things even cheaper for certain routes.

Could work well to get you to decent area feeling fresh, or deposit you almost to Calais at end.

Be interested what others thing - there may be other operators but does look a quality service

Booked an overnight train with them for next years tour. Really friendly helpful service. Ours is from allessandria to holland (about 2hrs from Calais, can't remember where) four of us in a cabin worked out £200 each.

Roll up at 3pm departs at 5pm arrives next morning at 10am. Have a restaurant if you want a nice evening meal. Seems cracking to me.

We are riding down and train back, that way it saves the three days we'd normally allocate for twisties home (I don't do motorways in Europe) and gives us more time at the ring and on the route napoleon ;)

I'm 'thinking' to visit Slovienia next year and take the train home - like you say saves the motorway or 3 days at end - its the time saving real benefit.

You could do a good route to there down through Germany, top of Austria via some passes in Slovenia / Croatia then back to the train Friday afternoon and in Dover Sat lunchtime (think that's the timing)

Be really interested in how you get on - when do you use it?

Great isn't it, gives you so much more access to countries further afield you wouldn't be able to get too if time is limited!

Ours leaves sat afternoon and rolls in Sunday morning, but all the routes / destinations run at different days. I have a link at work which details all the different companies and routes etc. I'll post it up tomorrow for a you to have a look.

Top banana, Al. This 'let the train take the strain' is the future. Numerous benefits. Keep us informed, shipmate. Thank you.

I got the day wrong - they all depart Belgium area Friday and arrive Sat morning, then depart far away place Sat afternoon and you arrive 3 hours from Calais Sunday morning / lunchtime.
Looking at taking it both ways now - with Concorde out of service this is the closest thing to a time machine to get you to the far side of Europe with your bike (if there is another option please let me know)

So far Jimbo is the site Guinea Pig lol

Been looking at Railsavers for a few years now, although the lines and services have been cut down massively in the last 3 years. They used to have the French motorail service (dep. Calais Fri 6pm, arr. Avignon/Frejus Sat 7am) which was ideal for UK bikers with easy access to northern France, and the Dutch motorail from Den Bosch used to have a lot more services (2-3 times a week) to 3 locations in Italy as well as south of France.

On the plus side, the new service to Koper looks interesting. Might have a butcher's at that...
