Just now - on his full fat 1200 adventure bike, full bmw textiles etc etc.

he might be on his way to africa, who knows, and fair play to him, good bike and nice gear if it floats your boat....

although why feel the need to stand on the pegs all the way down the Kings Roads!?

    Tw*t....

There are three reasons to stand up on a bike.
    1. Help the suspension.
    2. See further.
    3. Comfort.

From his location and the terrain involved, I suspect it was 3.

    HTH.

Comfort from the potholes on the Kings Road, or his multi layered adventure kit stopping him from bending in the middle, do you reckon?

OP was made in jest - but your comment does raise a serious point, if he was doing it for comfort what about control? in a built up urban environment, if a car / pedestrian pulled out in front of him, how effective would his emergency braking be?

my guess if he grabbed a fist full his momentum would take him straight over the handle bars which would therefore increase the risk of personal injury to himself or others???

    Dangerous Driving?

Interesting...AFAIK, there is no law that prevents a motorcyclist from standing up :)
Anyway, he would simply ride over any obstacles/pedestrians.

    ha ha

but personal injury claims come down to duty of care to others.... have you caused harm by your actions etc where this could have been avoided by acting appropriately? Not legally or illegally....

who knows (or cares) but my argument would be he might avoid the crash if he wasnt pretending to be Charlie on the kings road and looking like a bellend....

    Been in an accident...?

    Not your fault...?

Never mind. At least you had a good laugh watching Charlie Boorman faceplant in central London.

Too many BMW badges on his branded breathable desert textiles, insulating BMW mid layer and the wifes knickers which were obviously cutting into him. Obvious really :D

Mind you. If I was going balls to the wall, blue sky adventuring I'd have very stiff wrapping too. It'd be a Landrover Defender.

Or,......maybe a helicopter. Wouldn't it be good to get an old Mil24 and turn it into an RV.
