Am looking at getting some new bits over the next couple of months and can't decide on the options so would like some advice and opinions on the following bits

    Bazzaz or power commander?

    Ohlins or Nitron rear shock?

    Thanks in advance

I'll be going Nitron mate personally, as they are £500 ish, quite a bit cheaper than Ohlins. Gonna get the forks done too. I also went PC5, but Bazzaz come highly recommended.

Personally I'd get ohlins and Pcv if money isn't an issue. But nothing wrong with nitron but not comparing like for like as their top spec shock is a lot more money.

I'd prob get ktec though over the lot. Think it's awesome.

Dude at brands on thur was running a team of two bikes. Suspension firm (forget the name) interestingly he chose ktec over ohlins.

Not saying its better but think it is equally competent....

    What a nice dilemma!!

there's a few distinct differences between the Bazzaz and PC see here http://1000rr.co.uk/mods-upgrades-accessories-products/10083.htm#post162488
ignore the marketing BS and read the factual bits.

    in summary:
    PC has finer map increments
Bazzaz controls all eight injectors (PC can but with the purchases of extra accessories)
The AT/Z-AFM works differently also AT works on the fly whilst Z-AFM has to be applied

Can't tell you which is better though! I have a PCV and it is more than adequate for my needs. Don't really need TC and if I got a QS it would be a HM.

Instead of a PC or Bazzaz have you though of upgrading both the front and rear suspension?

A front respring/revalve and rear upgrade would allow you to use more of the horses you already have.

Get a 2012 rear shock and have the oil changed and the spring replaced with an Ohlins one for your weight - It is a very good shock 'out the box' but obviously has to cover all weights of riders.

The front forks are highly rated too - have they had a full service and set-up completed on them ? Mine just had that with new bushes and cost was £230 - they are a vast improvement after the work

Maxton do a mod to the 2012 shock that makes them as good as most after market shocks then get a spring to suit your weight, think it cost my mate £200 plus vat, they also do updated internals for the 08-11 forks.

Have already put a 2012 rear shock on and already looking at fork upgrades (k-tech) but want a little bit more adjustability from the rear

As Alblade said If you have a matched rear spring for your weight you should the rebound/compression adjustments should be more than adequate... I do luvvvvv the K-tech upgrades on the front though!
