my bike's been on the stands for a week on the optimate, when i went to start it today it didnt want too and needed a lot of throttle. it made a wining type sound when pressing the starter, does this sound like the battery is on the way out? on the motobatt website it only show's a cb1000, would tht fit my 2012 1000rr? cheers
Cheers Steve, Looking into whats available for the bike and if anything better about as have heated grips and usb lead on there now, what with the cold weather on the way soon too may need that little bit more starting. Motobatt seams ok and pretty cheap too
check the Ah and CCA of any alternative battey to yuasa. I believe the USB adaptor is a constant poer drain! so be careful with the pea size CBR battery. best in my opinion is to take the battery to a reputable shop to do a battery health check. If it has sulfated, then some of the cells have reduced / no storage capacity so although the volts will read ok, the charge capacity of the battery is reduced. if your charger has maintenance/ desulfation mode, give it try. but in the end it may not be the battery
Just to ask in this thread - I've just fitted a Motobatt to my bike, and note that the positive connector is fouling the seat when trying to locate it back on. The connector is sitting slightly higher due to the brass fitting position. Is this normal or have I cocked it up??
No they are a tight fit and do sit slightly proud! Just make sure you have pushed it all the way down as it shouldn't foul the seat
