Hi guys, ste here I'm new to the forum Ive had a few Ninja 600s and 1000cc sports bike and now after a blade which I've always loved These two seem like a goodens ? Just can't decide between red and black ? !!
Hi and welcome to the forum - more about the history, condition and miles than the colour but if they are both equal on those points go black
Both bikes like new, 2018/68 plates with 2k miles on the red, and 4k miles on the black - 1 owners, full history
Welcome, whatever floats your boat! I've had HRC and black, HRC brings out the lines but black looks bad ass! Never owned a matt finish though so maybe you need to consider this in your maintenance regime?
Point about the colour: the matt black will require a LOT more maintenance and care so make sure you factor that in too
I've owned a matte bike before and didn't find it any harder to look after. In many ways it was easier, you can't polish it so that makes things simpler and light swirly scratches don't show up at all. I used muc off matte detailer after normal washing. However mine was a dark blue colour and I think black is probably a bit more of a nuisance.
I'm just going by my helmet (not owned a matt bike) which has black and white areas. The white is very grey now, black shows stains too but I think if I maintained it more often, I might've been alright
Yea I know what you're getting at, I think it's just a different way of looking after more than anything.
I don't find mine difficult to look after, maybe I'm not as fussy as some. The bike looks great in the matte black, IMO.
I got some S Doc Matt polish for mine - sounds daft but it works. Looks brilliant. Last bike was a Repsol and admit to missing the real shine sometimes. Plus that black one has the RG sliders too, they're £200 ish.
I had the same bike - colour and year. I bought a matt shampoo and that was it. Wash it, dry it ride it. Had no problems with the finish. No worrying about polish or seeing the swirls as long as you're not rubbing grit in. Just be careful the shampoo has no gloss in it as it can make areas look worn/shiny.
I can never understand these posts, if it was about different makes of bikes and you need an opinion on how they ride, ask away, but it's just about the colour, buy which ever you prefer, we don't buy bikes to please others do we?
