    Hi all

I’m in the market for a new lid and have narrowed it down to the following.

    AGV Guy Martin 3some replica
    Shoei Peter Hickman trooper replica

just wondered what people think I have owned both AGV and Shoei in the past.

look forward to hearing peoples views

Get the most comfortable. I've just gone back to AGV from shoei and it was instantly a nicer fit for my head without the pressure points I had become accustomed too with the shoei
Look at the sportsbike shop on line

Looks wise I’d go trooper, if I could afford it thats what I’d be buying. I’d never wear it mind, just polish it. I’m a serial helmet polisher :)

I've owned a Shoei Xspirit3 for a few years now, and recently tried an AGV Pista GP R Rossi 20 Years Limited Edition... I wouldn't trade the Shoei for the AGV.

I had an AGV k3 for my first helmet, lining was plush and build quality felt great! Downside is that I had to wear steel toe boots in case I dropped it...

Also only two shell sizes so I looked like a toffee apple on a bicycle..

I now have an LS2 arrow evo r! ACU gold, 4 star sharp rating and a nice slim three shell profile.. All for less than 200 quid. Food for thought

Try them both and buy the one which fits best, everyone’s head shape is different. Or if neither seem particularly good then look further afield.

I’ve got an AGV Sport Modular and a Shoei GT Air. I find the Shoei more comfortable and reckon I’ll pick another one up when the time comes to replace.

Worth Getting yourself to a bike shop and getting yourself fitted/sized up properly as well. So many people with ill fitting helmets out there!

Ive wanted one for ages. Tried one in a shop and it felt great off the shelf.

It's super comfortable on the head, more than the Xspirt3, however construction quality doesn't seem as good as Shoei's and visor fogs up really easily, which is specially bad for people who wear glasses, like me. On top of it all, it's considerably more expensive.

That's what is holding me back, it's crazy money really o_O I was hoping to get an old stock gloss one when the new one came out but there was none in my size reduced. Can get the new version for 800 quid but it's still alot of money considering how careless I can be.

I love the rx7v but sometimes feel like a right fan boy in full HRC colours :D

Agree with the construction part. I really liked the AGV visor though, feels nice and thick and I personally had no real issues with fogging (and I wear glasses too)

a friend of mine had a Pista though and when riding with the visor open, one of the locking lugs on the visor snapped and the whole thing flew off. AGV refused to do anything and said it’s a racing helmet and the visor shouldn’t be open.....

Forgot to mention that part... That locking mechanism of the visor... Didn't liked it, and felt it would snap really easily.

This thread reminded me that my current helmet in now 7 years old and therefore due for replacing. It's an AGV K3 and I've been really happy with it. Noticed that Sports Bike Shop had the same helmet, just in a different Rossi colour scheme and an internal visor, with 40% off, so I ordered it. If it's ain't broke and all that!

The new K6 is meant to be really nice, also the lightest normal helmet on the market at only 1300g I think I read somewhere, could be worth looking into

The only issues I had with Arai was their weight and the visor removal, glad they have made the side pods removable, so much easier. Still a heavy helmet though.

I've just picked up the AGV modular sports and while modular helmets are generally heavier due the lifting mechanism etc this one is 1290grams and is way lighter than my shoei though being a full carbon job it should be.
Really pleased with it so far but any big brand helmet will do you well so long as it's a good fit
