Yes but 500 not to much and if the unspeakable happens I'd never go though my own insurance claim to fix my bike.

As Slick has said, it's a high Excess, I'm with Swinton and they offer some sort of excess protection, that will refund me most of the excess, in the event of a claim (premium added to policy)

    Hi Guys
I too have had a quote off MCE for only £229 for my Blade and thats with only two years NCD
One thing I have noticed though is that they don't seem to cover you for riding abroad!!
Which is no good for me.
    Anybody else aware of this?
Would welcome some advise as to other good insurers as after MCE the prices all seemed pretty much the same

I'm insured with MCE again and I get 30 days European cover.
I use them to mainly get BSB add ons.

I have looked on another site and it says that you are covered abroad!
    I'm confused.com
Guess I will ring them to make sure

I've got my insurance with MCE inc protected excess and 60 days riding abroad for £259!
Not bad for a someone with only 2 years NCD
I used the Asda comparison site, which said "no riding abroad" then rang MCE with the ref number and they added riding abroad FOC
The only one possible downside I can see is that they charge to make any amendments to the policy, so best make sure you get it right first time.
