Been faffing about trying to decide what lens or new camera to get for my trusty (but little used) 400D

Picked one of these up today:

    http://www.jessops.com/online.store...5-6-3-xr-di-ii-lens-canon-af--27516/show.html

Not tried it for anything - its to replace the stock 'kit' lenses I have so I can have 1 lens and leave on the camera.

Fingers crossed sharper / faster auto focus and enough range of zoom to keep me happy and get me using the camera more.

Have also been asked to do friends wedding photos in July so just hope that is good enough.

    Any thoughts ?

Great lens mate, Emily uses the same on her 1100D. Fab for long shots, and better than the Canon equivalent unless you go L glass.
Good luck on the wedding, i'm doing my 6th wedding tomorrow, great fun!

My next update may be a 600D body to get me HD movie editing - need to check specs of the newer cameras - can then use that lens, my flashgun, cable release etc. with the new body.

Does that lens have IS? Want something to replace the kit lens and I've got too used to IS lenses now - don't know how I managed without them before tbh :D

Not sure if its stabilized - had a good read of the website and nothing mentioned but maybe some of the codes etc. mean that it is ?

I did wonder at that price. I'm looking at the Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Mk2 DC OS at the moment. Could do with something I can use for macro though too...
