    Hi all,

Bought myself a RR8 yesterday so thought I'd best join the forum to keep ontop of things!
Had a few R1's but never a blade so quite excited to ride it .... When the rain stops that is!!

Will have a search through the forum to see of there's anything on the bike that needs checking, but if anyone knows of any underlying issues I should look at, please let me know!

    Guy

Welcome Guy, I too came from an R1 background and to be honest I have no idea why it took me so long to find the blade. It handles so much better that you'll ride more progressively (as the advanced instructors say) automatically. I've not had mine long so not sure exactly what to look for. Someone will come along shortly and put us out of our misery ;)

Build quality surpasses the R1, hoping to get out later to see how it rides!

Hi Guy. I'm was exactly the same. Traded in a 2011 R1 for a new blade. I had carbon Arkro cans with the baffles removed which made the best noise ever & was the main reason I bought it. But I never had 100% confidence in the handling (couldn't quite gell with it in the corners). Then went into a Honda dealer for new lid in May 2013 & came out with a Blade. The difference is night & day to my confidence in the corners. Still got chicken strips on the tyres but I'm trying to rectify this :D

Thanks everyone, what a friendly bunch :)

Well went out for a quick 30 minute ride and what can I say! I'm so impressed with the handling compared to the R1 (I had 2 4C8's) and found they used to dive into corners where the blade is soooo smooth! Engine and gearbox perfect. Only gripe is its a bit quiet - but thats easily rectified.

I'm liking the look of the Taylormade Racing pipe, has anyone got one who can give me a review?

I will try and upload a snap too :)

Welcome seems a lot of recent blade owners have upgraded from the mighty R1 I did and never regretted it

Don't worry about the TaylorMade exhaust review.
Did a search and there's a stack of comments (99.9% negative) so may look at other options, preferably I want one that doesnt look like waste pipe hanging out the side

Only a 8 hour round trip, but worth it :)

Welcome Mate. Also had an R1 2003, brilliant bike but I really like the Blade better, best road bike ever.

I've just got a carbon Scorpion RP-1 GP (have a look here Home you can type in your bike & can see how it will look) fitted yesterday. Look & sounds good. Also comes with a carbon plate to hide the cat.

Nice to see you picked the best colour. The 08 was well known for having a few issues so its best to make sure any recalls have been completed
