Hi everyone, Mo here from the midlands, been riding few yrs now, mostly 600 supersports, last bike being an R6, which was very nice and keeping her pinned everywhere was very enjoyable. Had a break from bikes for past 9 months untili got the bug again few weeks back. So now im the proud owner of a 2012 Fireblade in the best colours to :)

Gorra admit, always thought litre bikes were too much effort to ride fast on the roads, but the fireblade is def as small as my old R6 and as flickable!! and with all that power to boot, wot a machine!!

Been a member of this site for few weks, but wanted to make sure it wasnt like the other national forums full of trolls, you guys seem to be very knowledgable in all things fireblade so hopefullly learn a few things off you guys.

    Bike is a 2012 20th Anniversary model
    Red / Black / White
ASV short levers in black with red dials
    HRC tankpad
    Honda Seat cowl
    Pillion Pegs removed
    Powerbronze hugger
    R&G Crash bungs
    R&G Tail tidy with small plate ( 7 x 5 )
and a very loud Race fit " Black Edition " slip on and yes it is very VERY loud !! :D

    Welcome to the forum mate.

Nice bike, and even just looking at that exhaust it must be LOUD as you say. I do like it though.
I take it you have a powercommander or the likes to smooth out the fuelling.

Welcome to the forum Mo! That pipe reminds me of days gone by when I had a CB900FA. It had a Laser pipe fitted and was ever so small, just like they should be.

Hiya, I did ask the mechanic at the dealership and he said id only need all that if i was gonna stick an aftermarket air filter on aswell, he said its a straight swap for the oe can, so he bolted it on and hooked up his pc to some wiring under the seat ( can u tell im technically minded ) and just sorted it out that way,it does ermmm pulse abit when the temp is low, but soon as she reaches 75 she settles down and sticks to 1200 rpm.

i was just shocked at how bloomin light the race fit is and how heavy the oe is,im guessing thats the cat

yep totally agree, bikes should look and sound lovely and gorra admit riding her home, cars that were bit of a distance away could hear me coming and were pulling in to let me pass, so LOUD cans are def way to go :D

i had to wait aweek for it to turn upas its made by hand and gorra admit the welding looks like its done by a machine but its all hand done, british engineering at its very best!! :)

I wonder why he hooked it up to his pc.
Maybe to clear an ECU error because of the exhaust?
Either way I'd be very surprised if you didn't find the fuelling a little off at constant throttle.

Either way, enjoy mate. I'm sure the blade will be awesome :)

    Welcome dude...

The can is LOUD.... What Dave v has on his Colin, he got complaints at the ring and was pulled in, apparently 111db was too loud to let him go out ha ha

Hasn't had the fueling sorted and bike runs fine by all accounts, was getting way more mpg on tour over the R1 too

Does pulse also when warming up, but like mo says the weight of it is astonishingly light...

when he first turned her on, she didnt sound right, so hooking up the pc he just reset things and went for a spin and was fine, she does pulse abit at low temp but im guessing she did that anyway and wasnt really noticeable on the oe can, but is with this noisy bugger??

Daves is fine, lovely bit of kit!

You can put a growler baffle in, just means you have to drill a small hole in, exactly what Dave done and made a huge difference, still sounded awesome with it in, he's on holiday at mo but will put pics up when he is back.

Know what you mean about Harley's, so loud it's mad, but not considered as anti social as us lot though :( ??

They don't normally at the ring, but apparently the locals were complaining to the track about his bike ha ha

Welcome mate and beautiful bike :)
ASV levers are next on my shopping list as had them on my RR4 and they are brilliant. Still mulling over what exhaust to get but the racefit growler is one on my short list ! :D
