Hi all, I am Richie. I live in north Devon but work in Oslo (don't ask). I have a 1998 Fireblade. Has a couple non standard parts ( nitron rear shock etc.) but nothing drastic. Am very tall and looking to modify the handlebars (riser kit?) so I can get a little more comfortable on the bike as at the moment if I stay out for more than an hour I feel like I have been kicked all over by a horse! Any advice welcome.
Welcome to the forum Richie, I can't help on the risers but welcome . And got to ask, Oslo. ? That's a long commute! What do u do
Erm. I am a small boat project manager for a Norwegian oil exploration company. I mostly split my time between Oslo, Barnstaple area and Iceland where the boats are made. I did say don't ask!
Easy enough to fit risers to a 98 Blade top yoke. Buy or make the widest area you can fit and have the fixing bolt holes in between the webs underneath the yoke. Some people fit load spreading plates or fill the area between the webs with resin. I rode my RRW for 3 years with this mod and no problems. PM yer number for a chat?
Megawatt. I am in Norway so would cost you a fortune. Be better to PM me yours! Where would you recommend purchasing from as am not a technical guy? Richie
Yeah Helibars and Variobars work , for around £250. Wasn't thinking of phoning you mate. I'll PM my number?
