My old pinlock insert was on its way out. It was scratched, the anti fogging stopped working also it would move occasionally allowing fog to build up between the visor and insert. I replaced it with one of these, costs less than a tenner!: Fine Vision Arai SAI Photochromatic Insert - Not Fog City - Made by Pinlock | eBay As it is stuck on there is no chance of mist building up between the insert and visor. It’s also photo chromatic. See my test below, after a few seconds in the winter sun on my window sill it goes to a smoke tint. This morning it worked brilliantly, zero fog build-up, however the sun didn't make an appearance so can't comment about the photo chromatic performance whilst riding.
Cheers Slick. ordered one for my commuting helmet and couldn't justify the cost of a full on pinlock kit on a visor that gets used and abused.
