as i managed to trash my old shoei x-spirit (vermeulen) i decided to replace it with another x-spirit as i love the quality, ive got loads of spare visors and it did a damn good job of protecting my melon

i found a elias tc-3 on ebay for £330 but when i went to their proper site (to see if they were legit) i found this! £285 inc p&p!

Shoei X-Spirit Elias TC3 Bikers Bargains

so i bought it right away and apparently they do 24 hour delivery so should get it thursday

has anyone ever dealt with these before?

i have found silver for £250 which is crazy cheap but im not a fan of the silver. i would have went for a plain black or white though but i really like the ellias one and its the same £

ive had AGV airoh and arai in the past but from now on im sticking with shoei

beautiful! yea i got the dark visor as well, shoei is spot on, im a medium normally and find the shoei just a tad tight but rather that than slack eh. enjoy your lid and dont be a tit like me and leave it on your mirror whilst moving the bike!!!!!!

had a bit of an off 4 weeks ago. its getting sorted now.

hoping to get the bike back next week. had to go thru the insurance as it needed a new swing arm, tank cover and every other panel. all cosmetic but the parts bill was over £5k

Well a new back tyre caused a bit of a mishap. Was bolt upright on a steady throttle and it just lit up and spat me off. Had hundreds of tyres in my time and never had a one like that before.

So new swingarm, front wheel, fork every panel except right mid, and a few other little bits. Parts bill topped £5k

Helmet destroyed and leathers armour mangled.

The best thing I ever bought was arlen ness kangaroo suit. Hardly scuffed but armour panned in

Bleedin heck mate, doesn't sound good - I guess that we can all recount a close shave after having new tyre/tyrrs fitted but a £5k shave is not good at all - which tyres were they ? Maybe they were so fresh from the factory that the releasing agent hadn't fully flashed off em !!

Well it had been raing heavy for best part of a week and this was the first dry day after so maybe the road was Greasy.

Lucky I was within walking distance of home so was able to push the bike home and get it sorted before insurance collected it. The mrs heard the bike revs shoot up from inside the house but thought it was just a wheelie!

The tyres were corsa III. I've had prob 10 pairs of them and never had an issue.

This one didn't have a yellow sticker with barcode etc on. It had White writing printed onto the tyre and was really shiny. I remember thinking it was different. My mate even commented on how shiny it was for a new tyre.

My insurance renewal is going to batter me next year no doubt

Corsa III's came with mine and not knowing much about them I googled some reviews and they come out a bit marmite with a lot of people saying they tend to be reluctant to warm up with day to day riding

They're a great tyre. I've never had an issue with them. Think I've just had a particularly slippy tyre on a greasy day

For those who don't weartheir gear please bear this in mind

I was doing now more than 20mph on a warm sunny day and no other factors such as cars etc were involved and I still managed this

Usually when I was the bike I run it round the block to dry it off with just a helmet. From now on I will never ride a bike without the full gear on. If I didn't have my leathers on I would have been 6 months in hospital. No doubt. All I had instead was a nit of a headach and alot of bruising and friction burns. And a big bill.

    Bugger me!

"Bouncing" was an apt choice of words.

Hopefully get the bike back next week. Honda have had it 4 weeks now but only waiting for a left side mirror now so should be ready soon.

Can't wait to get out on it. Been the most frustrating time missing the good weather!

Pleased your ok bud, just goes to show how easy it is, your warning to others about wearing proper gear is spot on. I never go out unless I'm suited and booted, I have leathers and textiles and a mate just come of his wearing textiles at 80 mph and he says he'll never wear textiles again! Wore right through!
