New tyres put on today (Metzeler M5's) and the verdict is I'm very pleased. Good recommendation Si! Probably did 100 miles or so today scrubbing them in.

Finished scrubbing in my PR3's today, found a nice deserted roundabout on Wrexam Ind Est' with new tarmac near Demon Tweeks.

Rode round it 4 times getting lower and lower, much to the amusement of the old lad walking his dog!

Was going to be a rebel and do 4 laps going the other way round but thought better off it being as it was 3pm on a Sat afternoon! :p

Think I'm gonna go with Power 3s - £258 fitted. I need something with a bit of longevity. My current BT16 lasted 5 months!

Ha! They are indeed Si, I could tell straight away they give out a good amount of feel. Glad I took up on your recommendation. Very reasonable price too, ride in ride out with balancing £233, can't complain.

Spot on in the Dry matey, haven't been out in the wet yet and don't intend to intentionally but I fitted them as I plan a few Tours with the lads and itineraries have to be adhered to, so if we have a day's riding in the rain then I wanted sumat that excels in the wet also, Brucie Bonus is the mileage is good too apparently.

    Thanks Sinewave.
I've had someone recommend Power 3 but I can't find any user feedback on them.
    Thinking about 190 55 17 on the Power 3's.
Anybody else running these at the mo?

Yes was looking at the Road 3 but someone recommended the Power3 as well. Road 3 seem to do everything I would need but being drawn into the increased grip and no drop of in longevity claims. Lol

Ultimately you will get more grip on Power 3's over Road 3's but it's not all roses.

The gripier summer/track orientated tyres need to be warmed up before giving their best and also wear out fast.

The road based tyres grip from the word go and excel in wet or greasy conditions that would have the other tyres feeling skittish etc

From what I've read you'll not find PR3's wanting in any road based style of riding and for me that's all about confidence in the tyres in any conditions

I'm about to order up a set of the Power 3s in the next couple of weeks so will do a review. I'm straight off to France for a week on the bike so will have plenty of opportunity to test them!

Just had the power 3's fitted - first impressions having spent the evening scrubbing them in are they have loads more grip than the Sportsmarts did (this may be because I'd done 7k miles on the Dunlops prior to the change).

Looking forward to doing more miles on them!
