So I've got my bike in Honda Newcastle for service and for my tyres to be fitted.
A bit worried about riding on new tyres, so to take the sheen off would it be best to get the tyres warmed up and then gently tackle the bents of hit the motorway and duals with bends?

Just ride it sensibly for a few miles, building lean gradually.

They say 100 but take it steady and you'll be fine , once warm gradually build up your lean.

You can scrub new tyres in as little as 10 miles!

As said it's all about building up lean angle progressively! ;)

…..depends its wet up here but 14C, if it's the same for you just go easy on your throttle. Be confident, relax, ride smoothly and you'll be fine. Don't get hung up on time / mileage etc, it is what it is, racers scrub tyres in 3 miles. What you can consider is it will take longer at this time of year than summer, but don't stress if you find yourself in a position where you need to lean the bike, do it, the consequence of not doing so is almost always worse and the tyre will hold unless you're doing something incredibly stupid. Look up Kamm's circle this may help you visualise, just don't use a lot of throttle / brake in combination with lean, which is pretty much the case for road riding anyway and especially as the weather get worse.

3 miles?? Opened my eyes seeing dudes do it in 1 corner mate... Honestly, new on, line up, knee down 1st corner of sighting lap....

That said, road riding / no warmers totally diff ball game.

Me, no set miles, more about what tyres you've just put on, conditions and more importantly how they feel.... Some take more than others, some fine from the off...

Just have in back of your mind, another 50 miles is cheaper and less painfull than an off :)
