Getting some new tyres fitted to my track bike, I've always been told to take it easy on new tyres for the first 100 miles or so, due to the oils/chems used in the moulds ? I don't want to waste most of a track day wobbling around worried about new tyres and yet I can't get out on the bike to scrub them in, is there a way of doing this ?
I find that once the warmers get them up to temp, and the 2/3 sighting laps that have to be done, you are good to go what tyres you using?
pirrelli super corsa's, you sure Simon ? brand spankers not even touched tarmac, Not doubting you at all just a tad dubious about pinning the throttle on them from the off ?
Goes against the grain I know, but after racing last year you have to rewire what you've learnt.... Freaked me out first time putting brand new tyres on, doing ONE sighting lap then racing on them flat out just off a warmer into first corner. They will be more than fine after a few laps as said, take it easy for that then they are good to go!
