The Blade is officially hitting me with some big bills and I'm thinking of bailing on it and going for something new and badass. Does anyone have any experience of the brand new ZX10R on track and more specifically the stuff I'd like a comment on would be. Standard brakes, suspension and electronics. The engine's got 200bhp so probably enough for now but I'm keen to know what the stoppers and springs are like out of the crate to get an idea of whether I need to budget for some hop-ups early on.

I have a 2015 for racing and had a 2016 on order from MSS but went with the 2015 (long story) Three brothers I race with had 15's and went to 16's and have struggled with them for various reasons... jase on here and also my team mate in endurance has one and has had similar / different issues. i'll try and keep it simple from my experience and what ive seen. On the road - test rode one against a Pani and it p1ssed it. By far the the best road bike ive ridden. Brakes are brilliant, suspension is so plush and the top end is insane. bottom end is rubbish but a ECU flash and like pipe sorts this. think you have to increase fueling 50% after to get it running right. Cat and emission laws at stock it's pants. Not ridden one on track but few points i've seen : Stock suspension isn't up to scratch, despite the new design and claims it's not. lads have struggled for feel and guy i race against cant get it to hold a line. standard springs are way to stiff ECU and fueling needs a flash - this isnt a problem but why all the superstock lads have binned them off for the BM. fueling apparently is jerky without it and in the wet few lads were crashing them a lot! Brakes awesome apparently. Set up is hard and they guys were all struggling with it, but seem to have it sorted... all went slower to start but are now getting back / quicker times on the 16. Once dialed in and the issues are sorted it's an absolute weapon! but it's not as similar as the 15 as people thought and will take time before everyone knows em inside out. Apparently there is a factory upgrade coming for the ECU which will sort a lot of the fueling issues out as stock for the sstk guys. with link pipe and flash your looking at real world 196/199 on the dyno runs i've seen budget to build (allowing for a ACU discount on bike) with wheels and suspension and everything you are looking circa £20k!
Also, thanks very much for the comments! The discount bit caught me by surprise. It all sounds fairly promising but also might be a plan to go for a 2015 and save the £'s for some extras. Then again, if I go 2015 I'm really buying a 2011 bike... Hmmm.
if you race regularly or are in bsb sstk etc you can get discount on bike from dealers (not huge but helps) as they are not road registered.... different for every dealer / bike / rider / timing etc etc etc etc.... many lose the VAT through businesses and advertising also... the 2015 is a very very capable bike and buying a prepped one will be about half the price of a 2016 you do yourself / buy done new.... it's certainly not half the bike! and there are changes from 11-15 mainly on the electronics etc. Mine had done two euro TD's and two rounds when i bought it, nearly new, ready to race and 189 at the rear wheel, so pleased with it its unbelievable. would loved to have got the 16 but circumstance wasnt right, had every intention on doing it next season... prob just keep the 15 now as it's miles better than me.
Sorry Guy's been working away 'Darn Sarf' so only back 2night! As standard front end is more than good enough unless U R top end of Fast Group or Mid paced racer in the Starter series. Swapped my back end out for an Ohlins GP Shock Standard Electronic Steering Damper is an absolute liability but a £300 swap out to an Ohlins Race Damper is awsome. Standard Throttle is very snatchy making delicate throttle holding/mid corner line etc impossible. Woolich Flash ECU and a De-Cat link Pipe sort this and boost mid/low range to respectable (BMW) levels to compliment the Insane top end power. Springs are too hard for lightweights but suit my 'Manly' 16st Frame spot on! ABS Dongle/Disabling is worth doing if ya a Demon Braker like me as as standard the ABS can cause the odd run on in a tight corner which could av ya in the Gravel Traps if unaware! All in (after a bito fettlin) Tiz a Weapon!
I cannot wait until I get mine sorted! As soon as the Blade is revived and sold it's down to the Kwak shop for me. I spoke to Chris Walker at the end of the week and chatted to him about the once they are using for track and he said that even in almost totally stock trim he's a happy bunny. He agreed with you Sinewave that the ABS wants turning off but brakes and suspension etc. he's totally happy with. They want to keep it stock as a sales tool as well.
