sooo.. a week today i will be picking up a new (to me) 2008 cbr1000rr , 9k miles, in white ...comes serviced and 10 month warranty. i am coming from a 2013 street triple r , and i'm so excited , this week will drag...lol the bike is standard apart from a black screen and tail tidy, i have a few plans for the bike , exhaust , quickshifter , gear indicator and swap the gold engine and clutch covers for black ones or r&g covers , it also has the original rear indicators on it which i will swap for led's. is there anything i should know about the cbr100rr rr-8 ? oil/brake's , engine or any other problems people have come across during their ownership? thanks in advance charlie
Hi Charlie. Nice to hear, and good selection of bike. Bit of a reversal, because some have gone from the Blade to Street Triple. Research the fitment of LEDs. There has been some mention of them requiring special relay. I can't be specific because I haven't personally done the changeover.
Welcome to the forum, just keep a an careful check if oil levels, but great choice of colour, post some pictures.
That sounds a tad dear. Beware also, that you might only get the 'upshift'. I think bikes need the 'throttle-by-wire' system through the ECU to manage the auto-blip downshift. Could be wrong, (for the third time this year) but worth checking.
Here she is! I added engine covers r&g ones to get rid of the gold engine as it didnt match, 9k miles on 08 plate, absolute stunner! 1st litre bike & i cant stop grinning, Got an led clear tailight to go on also
Urban Zebra. Brilliant! Good call on the engine covers. Gold must have stood out like the proverbial . . . Guess you're off riding shortly, as am I!
