Hi all, Just bought my first Fireblade after having a couple of Gixxer 750's and more recently a Ducati 848 EVO. All i will say is 'different league'. I know its a thou but the difference in grunt/ power compared to the Duc is unreal and basically, i've wasted the last two years (chose the Duc over a Blade). Anyway, look forward to the discussions and forums Regards

Hi, the Duc was a good bike and did enjoy it as it did feel a bit special but even after a gixxer 750, it felt under powered. You have to ensure you keep in the right gear as usable power range was small & Torque was nothing special in the mid range. 'But' it is defo a bike you do have to learn to get it right and put a lot more effort in than you would on a Jap and there were times when you got 'just right' on some twisties and it felt amazingly. i even did two 1k mile tours of Scotland and in 5000 miles i had it, it was 100% reliable. I am glad i had it but when i rode my blade the power diff to the Duc was far more than i expected & put a BIG smile on my face. The other point was servicing and insurance costs and would advise anyone to check these out as they are expensive & only real service options are main dealers.
