Just found this, not sure if it's true or not....... 2014 Honda Cbr1000rr 13731 Hd Wallpapers Widescreen in Bikes - Telusers.com
Just as an aside.... why is it that since 2007 there have been a number of wholesale changes and tweaks to the 1000RR but bugger all to the 1000R ? Is is the unloved half brother of a serial killer ! When i asked a dealer this, he said that because the bike was perfect it did not need to be updated !!! When i pointed out that the Fireblade must have been a right dog then due to the number of changes made he sort of went quiet.
Don't forget the cb1000r uses the old 2004 blade engine so that won't get any money invested in it There have been styling changes / colours on the CB1000r but little else - it sells well so why not just take the profit from it till it really needs an update ?
I hope thats not next years as it looks exactly the same as this years to me!! Come on Honda don't disappoint!!
As others said looks the same. still very nice indeed but was hoping for a major change for the 14 bike. maybe they have done more to the engine and added a few moretech things to keep it up to date with the BMW 1000rr and ZX10 I am waiting for the next big change for the blade until I get another. Having enjoyed my 2011 blade that much I will very probably get another
I am not sure why there appears to be quite a few forum members that want to see a change in our toy. It is quite obvious it is out of its depth at WSB level but as far as being a street bike is concerned it is brilliant. If it ain't broke don't fix it. If Honda were to introduce a V4 superbike they couldn't really put a Fireblade tag on it as it would be too radically different. I for one would like to see it, but if they did it wouldn't be a Fireblade would it?
Its been going since 2008, surely its time for an update? And I mean more than some slightly redesigned fairings! I for one would have my name down if they bring out a completely new bike, its well overdue!! 2 year development cycle, where's that gone? Its a great bike which is why its lasted so long, what we need people to do is stop buying the bloody thing then they will give us a new one
I would like the bike to have the following: 1. Same bodywork as the MotoGP machine or close too (RR4-7 doesnt count ;p) 2. V4 ideally but unlikely 3. LED dash 4. Not fussed about electronics aids, perhaps traction control) 5. 180 hp And to be under 10k hehe
Yup. That looks like a 2013 bike to me. Not that that's a bad thing - still a great looking bike and shows you how well designed it was to last this long. If they do change the design, I doubt they will update it to much as their rumoured "RCV for the road" project I keep reading about in MCN will most likely be the new range topper...
It's got to equal an RSV-4 or HP4S to be worth swapping for. If it doesn't by the time mines 3 years old then I'll be riding an Aprilia next time round!
I've been waiting patiently for the new blade to come out, to the point that I have actually stopped myself from buying another brand in anticipation of the new 1 being a proper new bike. Now don't get me wrong I love my blade and its looks, but surely this can't be the all new blade that I have been waiting for?? If it is I can honestly say that it will be bye bye blade and hello to the euro bikes.
