Just come in at the local dealers...I've not seen one of these blades with this paricular Arrow can on and I thought it looked really well!
I might be alone here but I really like the OEM can fitted at the factory. Quiet when pootling about and sporty enough when you wind it on. Maybe even a bit too loud once above 10 grand but I've been impressed with it and I wont be changing mine. As for the Arrow above, I'm not sure about the matt black with the carbon end plate. Personally I would have gone for either silver with carbon end or all carbon. As they say, you pay your money and make your choice
I think I'm with Paul. A first for me, I plan to keep the OEM can on mine. Other stuff changing but not the end can. I think the Arrow looks like what it is, an aftermarket can. But that is the beauty of choice and individual decision.
It just looks huge, like the ones 20 years ago, It must be to keep the noise down. Racefit for me, love the looks
Kepted the stock can on my 2018 and agree at high revs it is plenty loud enough but when going through villages not offensive so don't feel like a plum ...,I hate real loud pipes especially cheap brands most people think there going quick but going no where because of all the noise...
The engines running and I’m gonna get me coat as it will probably upset some peeps, but there’s been some really nice looking Blades in the past, but side on what an absolute dog, a complete mish mash of angles and the lower fairing with that cheapo decal, looks like an aftermarket part from years back from the likes of Rickman, the can ain’t got a lot of competition in the looks dept to be onto a winner either.
I sort of agree but also dont.. confused? You will be ! The 2017-19 bike is a strange one. I cannot get away with the colour scheme of the standard bikes and like you it just doesn't look right especially at the bottom. However (and I own one so prob biased) I think the SP versions look superb. The different colour schemes make a huge difference in kerb appeal and I love the lower fairings of the SP with the white finish to them and I still think the std can both looks better and sounds better than a lot of after market stuff
I agree with Paul, the colours aren't doing it any favours. Black frame, wheels, swingarm and exhaust don't set it off. The SPs on the other hand are real lookers. I was looking at an SP2 in a dealer this morning alongside the new Fireblades and with mine just outside the window. The SP2 was the best looking of the 3 in my opinion.
I'm a biker through and through and had my fair share of loud exhausts, but I spent a day in Cheddar Gorge with the family the other day and some of the exhausts there were waaay to loud and the constant screaming and popping got a bit annoying! maybe my age or just jealous I wasn't riding!
Could be your age because I'm the same ! Dont mind people going for an aftermarket can and adding a bit of noise to their bike if that's their thing but the last few years...........some of the cans especially the stubby ones dont have any wadding or anything in them and are just a load of bloody noise
Yep, agree on the noise front. I had the Racefit followed by the SC Project and the novelty wore off pretty quick. Great for London and filtering but after an hour it gets tiresome
Its what the noisy can is on thats the problem. A screaming inline 4 with a noisy exhaust can be very annoying. V4, V twin or triple = the noisier the better
The first time I revved out the blade to 13500rpm I thought this can cannot be legal ! Then I read a few comments on marshalls trying to fail blades on noise at track days so I realised its pushing the limit of legal. It's nice though as pottering about is very quiet. As has been mentioned I'm just turning into an old fart You pesky kids go on cut you cans off completey and ride with open pipes , go on you'll love it ! (Just dont ride directly in front of me please )
Hey we've all there, but the single cylinder 125s learners with open exhausts sounded awful, I swear this particular grom 125 that went up and down the Cheddar Gorge all day, I could have ripped his arm off, stuffed it up his exhaust then the whole lot up his arse
Bring back the crazy frog...dinggggg dinggg ding , love those 2 strokes myself. 50cc of nothingness and that lovely smell of burnt 2 stroke oil coming out of an exhaust with a HUGE expansion chamber. That's why so many parents effing hated bikers!! They were all wanting to do exactly the same as @Slick describes above
Yeah, I'm very much one for keeping things stock - unless they are hideous to start with (although then I probably wouldn't have bought it in the first place). Always makes me laugh when I see a Ford Fiesta or a VW Golf that's had body kits and spoilers added.. I'll probably alienate a few here, but the ridiculous looking Ford Escort RS Cosworth or Sierra Cosworth with the big tail just looked stupid in my opinion (which annoys my brother-in-law who had both).. much rather have a beautiful Aston or Jag from those days - although obviously they were a little more pricey - but not that much more.. Oh, back to the end can - hmm, I don't think it looks bad, although it does look like the clamp would work well with my gutter's downpipe that wobbles around a bit when it rains really hard.. Not for me I'm afraid. Had thought about throwing a grand away to get an Akrapovic end can, then thought, why..? I too like the stock can.
Like all posts that include pictures though, so that's a thumbs up for the post from me @Lozzy but not to my taste.
Where are all you loud exhaust people for support, If I am going down a country lane at least people get out of the way, filtering they also get out of the way, I think there is an element of safety with a loud exhaust, I have a Racefit but with a homemade baffle, The noise did my head in
