I have a nice little dilemma as to what to spend some money on next having just sold my Triumph Sprint 1050 after 5 years and 33k miles happy ownership. I have always been keen on a garage full of cheaper bikes rather than one ultra expensive modern one. Anyway, the dilemma is do i spend 6k on upgrading my rr4 to an rr9 / rr10 and reduce my fleet to that and the Ducati, or do I keep my perfectly good low mileage and immaculate rr4 and buy a gorgeous 2010 Speed Triple with 7k miles on it. I rather like the idea of a Streetfighter type naked alongside the Blade, variety being the spice of life and all that. I do love that 1050 triple motor .
like you say it is better to have 2 different styles of bikes , i keep toying with the idea of a v4 tuono as a 6th bike. you can never have enough.
Speed triple every time, although if you hunt around i have heard of some new old model street triples going for £6000, good fun on a warm sunny day
Mmm, wouldent have a problem with an old model version at all , still not at all sure about the newer headlights .
Somedays you might get up and just not be in a sportbikey mood Eyore... But you might just be in a streetfightery mood. And then you wouldn't need to go without. (PS. Yes the new lights are wank)
Triumph all day... Old shape, 2008 onwards, black, arrow low boy, belly pan, fly screen, bar end mirrors. Job done!
How about a nice Z1000 Kawasaki Z1000 A6 2006 8K miles perfect showroom condition with loads of extras. | eBay
Seller seems familiar Nice clean bike but not my cup of tea I'm afraid. Speed Triple or perhaps a Tuono, something with attitude and streetfighter badness.
Attitude....lol You ever ridden a Z1000? Pulls 166 no problem...eats those triples.....lol Pops up on the back wheel no problem, and I had the points to prove it.....lol I understand you don't want something tooooo fast or powerful....lol
oooh choices choices! keep the RR4 and get a Speed, I did...but the other way around -but only went out on the Speed once after i got the Blade! I agree with kpone though sometimes its an upright thrill one wants
Yep, keep the RR4 and get the Speed, but i would not go for the Z1000 due to the build quailty the bike comes with, Triumph all the way. I think i am in a minority in actually not having an issue with the newer Speed's headlight, i went and had a good look round the new 2013 Speed Triple R version and really liked it (in white). But having the option of a sit up street fighter really appeals.
