    Hi
    I have a 2019 cbr1000rr.
The video shows a noise that is coming from under the seat with ignition on and engine not running. It disappears with a finger pressed in the right place.
Any ideas what it might be?

Pretty sure now it was the solenoid that drives the exhaust flap
    Seems to have stopped now

On my RR8, the valve in the silencer is driven by an electric motor (via a cable) not a solenoid. They must have changed the design.
If yours is also cable driven, could be the cable is sticky and the valve not returning to it's closed position. When the ignition is turned on, the motor is activated momentarity to take up and cable slack.
    I would check them both

    Thanks for the reply.

The bike engine management light came on and it went into limp home mode when out for a ride.
Not good on such a new bike with only 600 miles on it.
Honda diagnostic showed the exhaust valve was stuck.
It couldnt be freed off so a new silencer was fitted under warranty.
I have heard the motor or solenoid noise once under the seat since it was done but now it seems all ok.

the check light comes on if the motor (or solenoid in your case) is unplugged. Some people disconnect the link between it and the actual valve to keep the valve permanently open and also avoids the check light on situation.
If your valve is cable driven, then a squit of WD40 once in a while would be a good thing. Despite this your suck valve is very unusual and must have been a rare fault

So the engine management light is on again ( but not all thd time), and I can hear the solenoid buzzing under the seat with ignition on and engind nit running.
I have no confidence in the main dealer who supposedly fixed it first time round and am considering taking it to a well rated unfranchised service centre, even though I would have to pay to get it sorted, with it being under warranty and free of charge at the main dealer.

Assuming the exhaust flap itself is ok, what else might cause this problem ?

The solenoid controls the exhaust flap. I’ve found when the cable is slightly loose it makes the solenoid hum. To fix it tighten the cable ever so slightly to take out the slack. There is an adjuster on the solenoid end of the cable. If your close to Leicester I can show you if you want.

Cheers - I’m not far from Leicester - if Honda don’t sort it out (it’s going in for a service) I’ll take you up on your offer!
