    Hello everyone

My bike is just coming out from maintenance and they made me notice a noise in the engine.

They can t tell me what's wrong without dismantling the engine.

I made this video hopping someone may have an idea

    Engine has 22 000 KM

    Vidéo :
(Video is in french, I am saying the noise is only when the engine is cold, has it get warm, the noise disappears )

Imh videos never really give a true representation of the sound that human ears hear when up next to the source anyway.

That sort of noise could be caused by quite a few things but try and narrow the cause down a little further before handing it over to a garage.

Is the noise actually coming from inside the engine or outside?

Is there any loose items on the outside in that area along the lines of a rusted out exhaust clamp that rattles when cold but when the heat builds up it reduces the gap and there for the noise?

You can use a screw driver as a crude stethoscope to better locate the area the noise is coming from.

Unless you have a Harley running close by I'd suspect the cam chain tensioner.

I can tell you for sure that its not got a washer in the cylinder head rattling round inside it as I know what that sounds like..

Too much oil in it. Check level and drain off.
