routes - No idea, get off the Boat and ride to a pub!
direction - just look for the sunny bits on a map and Ride!
Accommodation - don't need that...just find an establishment that services Steve's Needs - Fine Wine and Quality Dining!
food - We Don't do burgers! just T-bone steak and Fish
drink - we don't drink Aldi Water

Here is an idea / option

    Book onto this event:
European Track Day Valencia October 5th
Includes 3 days on track, bike transport and 3 nights Hotel. 4 star Hotel room only in Valencia city centre. Early Booking Special Offer £559

Ship your road bike and kit over for the above while taking a bucket flight to Valencia.
Do 3 days on track (or as much as you wish maybe visit local area in the morning / afternoons) using the hotel as included above.
After the event head over to Portugal with your Lidl water via McDonalds for a burger and meet the fine diners around the 9th / 10th then grab the same ferry back from Santander to Plymouth and ride home

If it goes to pot on track at Valencia you have your bike shipped back and hop on a flight home.

Lots to look into but could maybe work / add a new dimension to the trip

I think doing a 3 day trackday at the start of a European tour would be a very bad idea.

    so it's official then :)
    Portugal 2015 has been announced.
As our previous tours this one is promising the same sort of balance.
We have to factor in going a month later, which may or may not have a bearing depending on the weather?
Various biker pages soon show the must do roads, Duro valley being one of them, & of course if possible those two night stays to give luggage free days ride outs.
I've been having a look at some maps, its looking like we will be making the Spanish/Portugal border on day one, spending time on some amazing roads then heading back towards Spain & probably a night in Potes?

I had a little PM session with Kafka our Portuguese forum member a while back, He has promised to help us with any information should we need it and hopes to meet up with us "or we could just ride into his school" ;), he did add October is a bit of a dodgy month, and can be a complete washout? but as with everything, we deal with that situation when it happens.

So as Will says it's game on and watch this space.

Anyone who's travelled these parts & has any useful tips/hints we are always willing to listen.

Thanks mate, I'll keep that in mind.

for the now the problem doesn't seem to be getting to Santander towards Portugal, more the route to take, the obvious one would be through the Picos, but TBH Jase, Steve and myself have done these roads perhaps a little too often these past two years, and trying to find something new into the mix, of course keeping the golden rule, minimum dual carriageways, ideally we would hit the Picos on our return to the ferry for just the one night?
