Northumbria Trip

    A group of us are having a 3 day trip to Northumbria soon. Any hints or tips about the area, sights, recommended roads, routes etc would be appreciated. Cheers

    There's a nice route through the Kielda forest, get up to Jedburgh and do a few of the borders roads.

    Don't forget the camera :)

    Up the coastal route, a697 Coldstream road from just north of Morpeth, if you're coming over from Wigan come from penrith on A686 over hartside pass to Hayden bridge, join a69 for a few miles turn left up a68 towards keilder, accross to Rothbury then on to Alnwick, I could go on...

    Good places there. Id checkout Bamburgh and Holy Island if you get the crossing times right, beautiful.
