I think they are normally restricted standard in the exhaust, carb and the trottle bit that you twist
But this is only ever fitted until the bike is home from the dealer lol
However Restricting it like this again will only let it do 35mph!

I think I crashed my 50cc about 10 times atleast but to be honest it was a couple of months after getting it as I just got cocky, once was hitting a white line in wet, once a drain cover, and several attempted wheelies because my mates told be to pull when I was leaving lol
Just got to have a bit of Common sence (I had non at 16) I also had noone that rode to tell me to avoid these things so I had to learn the hard way.
Give him your best advise and hope he takes it, I think if you restrict it him and his mates will be trying to de-restrict within a week to be honest

Remember you were young and stupid once, you could be trusted to be sensible and ......

Sorry Just ruined my own argument restrict it and quick !

Although I think he would be safer being able to move with the traffic rather than being constantly buzzed by stupid impatient drivers, I really feel for some of them on there 30 mph scooters must be terrifying at times.

Nice bike to start off on he will have serious street cred with that bad boy

I was young and stupid, I'm just too old to remember it. Fortunately I have a large collections of X rays and a couple of steel pins to remind me.

Yes restrict it. It can always be undone later once he finds his feet. You always learn more driving a vehicle at it's limit, if that limit is somewhere approved by the HSE it's a win, win.

I'm with Jamie, first thing my dad done was de-restrict it then swore me to secrecy from mum!! threat of said bike being removed from ones possession and inevitable extreme violence from angry dad meant i never grassed!! lol

his opinion was that its safer to keep up with flow of traffic and not be forced to the kerb, and that I’d learn proper road craft from day one… of course i agreed! ;) my only defence was I could ride anyway at that point so wasn’t a total numpty on a bike anyway, perhaps that gave him more confidence?

if he loves it half as much as i did, he will take it sensible as he wont want to f*ck it up! i only had a minor off on mine but taught me you couldnt even attempt to ride on black ice ha ha....

fair play to him, i loved my 50cc and yep, 62 is about right... used to get 105kmh on a clear and very long run! happy days.

This is what he got me, 16th bday delivery.... My dad was my hero that day!!

354/1000 limited edition 1st in uk...
