Not sure what has caused this issue but i'm a little worried about my front tyre.

In the photo there are some odd welts in the rubber, this doesn't look normal to me and wondered if anyone could shed some light on this , have they seen if before ?

the second issue as is a little hard to see, one side of the groove is well above the ware marker but on the other side its not far from the top of the marker, i cant understand how one side has worn lower than the other.

I've just come back from a 2,300 mile Euro trip with a pillion on the back. My front was worn in the same way. Whilst the hard compound cetre of the tyre was hardly eroded, the softer rubber of the side section was very worn indeed.

I was doing quite a lot of hard riding in the Vosges and braking fairly hard into tight hairpins with the bike at fairly extreme angles. This obviously made the sides of the front tyre work rather hard and I think that caused the unusual amount of side wear. The added weight of a pillion and full luggage did not help !

If your riding style involves trail braking into corners, you can expect to see wear like this. If it does not....there may be an issue with your suspension set up and I would also check your front wheel bearings.

    Thanks to silverback and Ritchierich.

I do use the back break more than I do the front trying to keep the ride smooth as the front dips quite a bit under heavy breaking.

Already had the bike booked in for suspension set up with PDQ in maidenhead.

    thanks again guys

After talking to PDQ and having the Suspension setup ( minor adjustments) looks like your right james, 2k front and back and the tires are shot :) and they are Sportsmarts, any comments on new tires ? I liked these but at 2k on a set they arn't cheap.

They do look pants, but they grow on you lol

As for power, never had an issue with them not putting power down.
