Afternoon all Over the winter I will be needing to do up grades to stop me from getting cabbing fever lol The question is will I notice A difference going to ohlins, ktec, wp. My 2010 blade track bike is one of the best handling iv owned. N iv had bm s1000, zx10, ktm 1190. So am I trying to fix something the doesn't need it. Or up grade and get longer lasting tyres and a lot more feed back?? Help lol Cheers
No doubt about it, it will be a big improvement. The standard shocks on bikes are built to a price and on my R6, the stock rear shock cost Yamaha something like £38. Also look at Nitron, I use one on my R6 race bike and it is good value for money.
Yup you'll notice for sure. I even stuck full Ohlins forks and shock on my Blade which is for the road and the difference is unreal. Though some would say it's too much for the road. I beg to differ as it's so much more compliant with less jarring over bumps. Not to mention that it now hunts for corners like never before.
Ohlins fork or cartridge with the right spring is for sure a massive improvement. Rear depends... If you have a 2010 shock for sure an improvement but if you have a 2012 shock it more difficult to see the differences.
My ohlins ttx was night and day in terms of feel, lap times and tyre wear! Was using half the rear tyres... stock was set up right and wearing great ob track days but racing just wrecked them as so much more aggressive.... front, yes i noticed the difference, a lot to be honest but only when really really pushing.... But my internals are the gas ones and not cheap at all so I've spent a lot of money for improvement... But not as good value as the shock imo shock and well set up front is still very good tho imo.... i raced like that no issues with not much slower lap times in fairness
