Oil in air box ?

    Just pulled out the air filter on my rr8 and there was a fair bit of oil (no puddles but still a fair stain covering half the box floor) that had been blown up from the central breather hole situated imediately behind the steering damper.
    Is this anything I should be concerned about.:confused:

    i get this as well.. and sometimes a small seapage from the filler plug despite a new o-ring fitted..

    No not really, the breather from the engine sprays a fine mist of water and oil when cold into the airbox, this condenses and forms a small pool of oil, it does not help by the fact that the airbox is also causing a vacuum which pulls air and oil from your engine when cold. It is all down to the emission laws that exist now.
    Unless your airbox has some 1/2 litre of oil in it then there is nothing to be concerned with.
