Due to friend hitting oil / diesel and coming off his beloved Triumph hospitalized for 2months. I think we should start Reporting any sighting of anything on are roads that come harmful to us bikers
Have you ever heard of killspills? I was a marshal for 6 years, it was founded in the northwest by Steve from Warrington, but with one thing or another he had to stop doing it. One year we had to get what the met police said was the biggest motorcycle rally through London, roughly 10, 000 bikes. Theres still a bit on the net, google killspills, you might find out what we got done with regard diesel spills.
steve's a top bloke, been out on a few rides with him,and you'll catch him at oulton doing the odd trackday still with the rocket centre. didn't know he'd stopped doing the killspills
Great bloke Steve, I think his mum wasnt very well at the time and with him going to London for meetings it took its toll in the end, plus the expence of keeping it all togeather. I have some good memories being involved in it.Not seen him for a few years now hope he's well.
Too late for me after I slid accross the Hambarn A3 roundabout on my face scuffing up my mint and now sold Z1 this year, since then I've seen countless derv and oil spills around me in Hants! Not happy about constant oil on the road and my hand is still fked!
Surely reporting it to the local highways they shud come round n sort it, trouble is its low on the priority status unless its a motorbike cop that comes off then its all hands on deck!! Surely ALL motorcyclists shud be treated the same!
Thats the problem they only give a f@@k if its motorcycle cop or paramedic. Diesel oil not the only problem its these new patches of road their putting down everywhere. Tyre traction grim. Si suffered from this on bike meet few months ago another member hit Diesel on roundabout. If we spot any or hear of any kind of spills I think we should add it to the map location of add it to this thread or make new one. I useless with computers so I can't
Problem is with them it's a case of the horse has bolted, people like me who discover them have often been down the road, as for claims your better off sometimes just lumping the cost if you can rather than making a claim, in my experience it's been cheaper long run just to pick it up, fix it, and get on with it, personal injury is another thing thing with spills is this last two years round me they have got worse and areas that used to be queen of lean seem to be sketchy some days they are good and other wet with fuel, it's commercial road users that argot blame IMO they brim the tanks and it slops out the overflows on corners etc... Maybe list black spots and a one line info on said area?
I've done my banging my head against a brick wall on this, or at least a similar, subject, the resultant novel, if you're an insomniac can be found here. http://1000rr.co.uk/lounge/6025.htm The guy I was corresponding with just didn't get my point at all and when I compared the Cowshit with commercial waste and asked why it wasn't subject to the same regulations, it became obvious that he'd just shut me down from that point on.
