My wife hasn't been in the best of health for the past few years, what with a prolapsed disc trying to saw through her spinal cord, and then her thyroid packing up times have been difficult. As a result her CBT lapsed some time ago and she has only recently started coming on the bike of may bike again for short pillion rides. Anyway, yesterday after 5 years off riding she took her CBT. After a short while on the road the instructor pulled her over. He told her that she was riding well above the CBT level and so they would go for a ride out instead. Needless to say she passed her CBT, OK it is difficult to fail it but not impossible At the end of the session he told her she was riding to test standard, and that all she needed was a few lessons to do mock tests and learn the test routes. Hopefully she will soon be riding an Urban Tiger NSR, and then she wants to get a Street Triple. Whilst I am very proud of her I will be a little sad to lose my pillion.
That's great to hear and you are rightly proud of her but I can also appreciate the sadness you are feeling.
I will know of a Street Triple for sale in a few weeks - my neighbour currently taking it round Norway as a final trip then selling up
Good for her... mine did it many years ago sadly due to MS she can no longer ride even as a pillion she was a great rider (sad to say most women are better riders than men) and used to put alot of my mates to shame
Good on her I suffered from a prolapsed disc so know how painful they are had a operation to remove and fuse cracking scar! Im with Sine on the pillion thing never take the wife out enjoy many miles together mate.
Cheers all, she is rather special to me. She is also the only person I take as a pillion, sometimes forget she is on the bike. Will be nice to go out on bikes together, but when she is a pillion I get to chose the route and speed. Suspect that will change LOL. She'll probably do her DAS next year, so until then I will have a 125 in tow
