Sorry I seem to be asking loads of questions since joining last week but another one needs to be asked.
2010 blade still fitted with Bridgestone BT-015's, rear is squared off after 1900 miles but front is fine. Honda Blackpool who I bought it off have agreed to a new BT-015F which is the same as the OEM tyres, fitted for £100.(I'd already taken a discount on the bike, so pretty fair)
So do I get this tyre, run it for another 2k and then change both to something more interesting. Or Bin both front and rear and buy a better pair now, then face more wrath from SWMBO?!!!

BT015's are THE worst oem tyre ever imo, get some sportsmarts or similar and it will feel like youve got a new bike!

I've got BT015 on mine at present.
I'm happy enough running them this year, and then it will be a new set regardless of miles left in them.
TBH I had a run out on Wednesday in the heat and I never felt threatened whilst riding. The seemed to offer enough grip, I did lose the front end on one occasion but that I would say was definitely down to the shitty line I took into a fast right hand bend and hitting a cats eye whilst trying to drag my knee on the Tarmac. "I failed miserably by the way:D"
I conclude by saying this is the first time I'd run the tyres constant for over 100 miles without stopping, except for fuel at Kirby Stephen but they were in the sun and I could really feel heat in them.

BtheP I'm not fast, I bottled it today when I was trying to learn just how amazing this machine is and at 1IO the front wheel came up on the throttle  I have a huge learning curve ahead of me, never ridden anything like it before. In the heat of the last week I have not had any problems with grip. I know tyres are very subjective, just wanted opinions if I was throwing good money after bad. So far the BT-015's seem fine for me but I have nothing to compare them with.

No sitting on the fence there from anyone, that'd be a definite NO then!
Right I better decide what to get and see if I can work the discount out again with Honda for a pair or just go buy a pair from the local guy I met today. He was offering a special on a pair of Michelin Power Pure for £200 + £30fitting, not been mentioned before, anyone tried them?

They tell it how they see it here mate.
I'm just being tight really. Using them rather than just binning them off.
Good for getting to know the bike but like the others, wouldn't be my personal choice.

I'm think tight here as well, just pushed the limit to buy this bike and loath to pay out more. I could learn the bike on these stock tyres and then move up, but then again I've paid a lot of money for the bike so why skimp on the most important bit?
I made the sensible long-lasting over grip choice on my last set of tyres for my GSA and I've got to live with them even though I hate them. Don't want to make the same mistake again.

Wise choice Flyer ,This is not guys bitching its just a fact! I ditched mine and bought a new set of Michelin 2CTs i weighed up the others like the Super-corsa ect but at about £220.00 ride in fitted it left me £70.00 change for some petrol just had two fast runs over the weekend and no issues what so ever which stacks up as they are a top tyre so most expensive is not always first choice, do the research then buy subject to ability /funds ect.

 sometimes things conspire against you.
4pm ride out today, 4.30pm stuck on the side of the road with a 3 inch screw sticking out of the BMW rear, no problem I carry a kit and it's right in the centre. Wrong the tread is very narrow and as the tyre was flat, as you started to push the rubber bung in the tread was closing and stopping it going into the hole. 3 bungs snapped,so mates kit came out.4th bung and only solution was to cut away the pattern either side of the hole.
Got me back home but ruined the tyre.
Now I've already said I hated this set of tyres but an 8 day trip to Germany planned and would have kept them until after the trip. Now I'm going to have to replace both tyres and go back to the stickier Tourance EXPs.
So now I have to pay £230+ for the BMW, the rear for the Blade will be the £100 deal from Honda, I can't replace both pairs at once
