    Very sad news indeed. i have the complete collection of dads army and i rank it in my top 5 commedy's

    I think I would agree with you there Fez. Steptoe was always my favourite but Dads Army is way up there.

    After embarrassing myself over Jimmy Saville, I'm going to hold off eulogising a bloke I last saw on Top of the Pops wearing a raincoat with two 10 year olds sitting on his knee. Nothing personal, just hedging my bets.

    The world's most famous reservist dies the day before the government announces they're going to replace the British Army with reservists.

    I can't work it out. Is that some kind of irony. It feels like it should be....
