Just a quick update for those that don't know and just wanted to thank the regulars At Oulton park in particular Andy and Maz who took my car and caravan with bike in back to my unit . Will keep this brief as Jimbo says I have milked it a bit too much . Was booked on to the 2 Dayer on the Friday had been going really well even beat my PB and did a 1.49 something, I didn't plan on doing this so early in the year and the way I was going think I would of gone quicker ,shells has been iffy all day and they had rock salt on the apex all the way round so you had to come in wide I just didn't have the bike sat up before giving it a handful and the back came round on me ,my mistake was holding on to the bike as I really didn't want the bike to flip which saved the bike as it's got minimal damage but I broke my ankle in 3 places so am in plaster for the next 6 weeks (well 5 as it's been over a week) meaning I will miss the first 2 race meets which I am gutted about .well if I listen to firebloke it will be a lot longer than that but I am an optimist so fingers crossed but it was a good break if there's such a thing (the best the girl had seen for a high impact break)which was down to my Sidi boots, had I worn my Sidi Vortice which have more protection I don't think it would of broke but they are a pain to put on but will start wearing them once I am fixed. Just want to give a massive thanks to those that helped pack my gear away in particular Andy and Maz as even after they had loaded up they still had problems with locking my keys in the car with engine running this was such a weight of my mind while lay in hospital as they kept me in for 6 days as they had to operate and I now have 2 metal plates and some pins whch will be fun when going through passport control . One word of advise I would give anyone doing a trackday is never go alone and having all the Oulton regulars there really did save me a lot of hassle as I don't know what I would of done without there helped so thank you so much everyone,I even noticed the bike has a lot less mud on it now than in the videos so I owe all the Oulton Crew who helped a drink .
Yup get well soon Jase .It looks like your following Jimbos riding tips a little too closely. At least we have Mad Matt representing the North ......Big Style.
We did get some funny looks trying to break in to a Range Rover by the side of the road with Cable Rods I can tell ya!
I'm proud of that comment mike! Bout time he tried a little harder. Go big or go home lol Get well soon jase, anything under 6 months will be a bonus mate so just take it as it comes
Cheers for your help on that J not the first time need to get 2 new keys from LR to fix that problem only £450 fix I did mention there an electrical nightmare.
Got to be realistic. Just hope it's sooner.... Mines took way longer than I thought it'd take, but yours might be a lot more straight forward. Fingers crossed!
what bone is it? i broke my tallis (sp) bone into a few bits, took about 5 months before i could ride again, and prob a year before i got enough movement in ti to change gear properly.as i said, ankles can be fuckers.just wait till next winter when it's cold and damp....... full of good news me
U Girly 'Office Types' all damage easy! Us manual types can get off at over a Ton and still keep all limbs intact!
Hope you mend soon enough mate. As others have said it will probably take longer than I think. I always go with the worst case and anything else is a bonus.
Be happy once out of plaster as least I can drive my limos then what happens after that we will see but I am not kidding myself in the recovery time but as soon as I can sit on a bike and change gear without pain I will be riding again just might need a hand getting on and off the bike ,not looking to run a marathon just sit on a bike . Also off topic still hate this new forum layout can we have the new one back please .
Just think positive mate.. Was talking to Cookies mate at Donny (can't remember his name) and he said you were going extremely well until the off.. You will be back before you know it mate...
