Oulton Park yesterday, noise tested my blade 105 db!!!! Couldn't let me on as it was 102db, WFT does he want me to do go back to Honda and tell them they standard silencers aren't quiet enough for Oulton Park!!! Told him to do it again held it under 5k just scraped through. Oulton Park do my head in. On a lighter side thought my mate with my Arrow GP2 would have no chance..............................101db can you believe that??
I'm a bit nervous about booking a track day for that reason. I've got a GP-Pro on my Repsol and is sounds quite a bit louder that the standard can - even with the baffle in. There's a track day on at Oulton on 10th June - I was going to pop down with my bike and see if I could get it tested - will they do that there or only if you're doing the track day?

Has your Blade had the Exhaust Flapped Mod done Yorkshiregooner? If so it may well have failed. Andy (off here) took his standard exhaust MY12 model Blade on Track here earlier in the year and Pissed it through noise testing?
Have done Oulton this year and got 99db on my standard 08 Blade exhaust with the flapper mod done. Bit weird it getting uptp 105 !!!
tbh if it read 105 than it was 105,which is a fail.reason why it read that i have no idea. at the end of the day,the noise limits are there for a reason.stubby cans have always been an issue.
Would it reduce the noise level if you disconnected the flap cable with the flap shut? Id think it would. Andy B
I'm not so sure as the flap opens at 4k anyway. My standard can with flap disconnected was 99 at Oulton.
Flap opens at 5500K Revs I belive on the Blade. Mine wouldn't pass now as I have an open Termi Zorst on, otherwise I might have done the Road Bike only TD coming up at Oulton!
Bog standard Last year my arrow gp2 was just over 102 absolutely packed with wire wool, now it's 101 without packing.
All to do with the sound power which I think is something to do with frequency. Racefit say their Growler will be ok for trackdays with a baffle on their website, "my arse" is what i think to that.
Just been down to Oulton this morning to see what's going on - Met Ray on his black blade. Anyhoo, had mine noise tested while I was there - 106db!!!! Feck me! That's a Gp Pro Evo II WITH a baffle in........ Just come off the phone to Leo Vince to see what they can offer to quieten it down otherwise I'll be having to put the standard can on for track days :-(
