I did one in December, had snow all over the sign in area. They treated the circuit with something putting a layer of dust on it when they just needed to hold off and sun would have melted it. Ironically all roads round Oulton were totally clear when I bailed at lunch as just did not trust the dust left everywhere
Can't for the life of me see the fun of limping round on a light throttle with zero heat in ya tyres? I crashed mine back at the end of July through lack of heat in the front so why the fek would ya wanna try and push on in these temps I'll never know. If you're going slow enough not to come off then you may as well go for a ride on the road for free!
I only turned up taking my friend Fayes place in the hope it would be cancelled but knowing focused you have to turn up to get the refund and they ran it
you should really buy yours pics before posting them up,togs have to make a living same as anyone else. as for 9c on track,or 7 or less.....glad I work a lot this time of year
im tight so i can justify it Im always surprised about the very large number of riders who shy away from anything but 20+degree's sunny trackdays, good set of wets and you can have just as much fun!
to be honest m8,my comment wasn't being funny,i'm being serious.i know Alex and how much time+money he puts into his work,so why should you be able to post pics he has taken of you without permission?,if you can afford the bike+trackday then you can afford a few quid for pictures,or don't use them. back to the question in hand, theres a difference between riding in wet conditions, thwen riding in frezzing conditions.riding in the wet is very good fun, riding in the freezing cold isn't imo,as the grip just isn't there, and when you push on (I can see in your pics your just having a gentle run round) it's gets very tricky.
I remember having a good cheap December day at Mallory in fast group on my road bike - but it was dry and sunny so track had some warmth and road tyres (trusty BT-023's) were prob. ideal to use. I don't push on half as much as the likes of Scooby etc. so was fine for me and I really enjoyed the day - plus I had heated grips which were the envy of loads of riders on track bikes!
I couldn't give a shiny shit if you were being serious or not Its my prerogative as a buyer to pay for goods if i think they are worth paying for, like any potential buyer has the right to purchase any for sale items on here if they think they are a worthy purchase. Alex has had business from me before and will have business from me again if i decide that there are photographs that i want to pay for. 9 degrees or 7 degrees isnt freezing (0 degrees is, in case you didnt know) However to remind you i said So as you quite rightly managed to say, riding around on freezing tarmac isnt very nice..... but at no point did i say i was doing that. Oh and as for tricky, please please please let me know what / when you next trackday is, so i can come and follow you around and see how much i can learn about tricky.... rossi god's, dont you just love em!
haha touchy aint you.it was just a little light hearted humour,i'll keep in mind nex time your a little sensitive, but keep an eye on the trackday threads, once it gets above 20c(obviously) you'll see a few days when I'm out,and your more than welcome to tag on,and then pass when you get bored.
Bit of a flaw there though mate, you haven't bought them, so they ain't yours to post, wether you've bought some in past or will again, ya don't own the rights to these ones.... As a potential buyer of a car, you wouldn't just take it and use it as you like but it's ok cos it has the for sale sign in the window Personally I'm surprised the forum hasn't been pulled for these pics in the past. And before you get all shiny shit and giving on me too.... Yes we've all done it, but as scoob says, when you realise how hard these dudes work - you stop nicking their pics
tbh you do see them a lot,but usually as avatar pics,so they are so small you don't really notice, but Alex wrote quite a lengthy piece on facebook about it (the fact people use his watermarked pictures of his) so was just highlighting the fact,i'm sure barney has a few opinions on the subject aswel...
Not touchy at all, i am having a laugh pointing out im tight fisted and not inclined to take opinions of people i've never met to heart We can go around in circles trying to justify why i should or shouldn't pay for the photo's. the package for the day costs £30-35 depending if you pay upfront or not, they usually have 40+ photos some good, some not so good. if i were to purchase every pack of TD's i went to id be out of a TD at the end of the year. so i dont. and i also dont want to spend £6 on a single photo that is ok. If its a cracker or the whole pack is good them i'll spend the 30 dosh. Photographers know the score and alex has expressed his opinions on facebook because of people like me but that's the way of life. as i said before, he'll have my future business no doubt!
Your absolutely correct in you observations Scooby/James, & I apologise for being caught with my pants down. I quote 'well copy & Paste Copyright-infringing material. No one on joining the forum shall: - upload, attach, or otherwise post any copyrighted material which they are not authorised to redistribute (subject to the licensing terms of the specific item) or media pertaining to illegal activities! If you are unsure about having permission to post or attach a specific item, please ask a moderator. The upshot is, if it says copy write thought the image? Well then it probably is, and isn't for anyone to share, unless they have the specific permissions in place etc, so... I'll be coming along at some point in the near future with my big rubber, unless they want to do it for me Certainly Not getting the arse with anyone, but if its there to be taken notice of, we'd better start well, taking notice.
Good heads up. We do little to over mod the forum But we have to ensure that the forum it's self does not get in trouble for what is posted. AS we have had many years of members doing the right thing in trying to self moderate with the little rules we have in place that is to benefit it's members and the forum.
To add to this there are companies out there especially some large American companies that will chase people for money using copyright pics, I know my webguy used a copyright picture on my website without me knowing and I got hounded for about 12 months ,another company I know got chased for 2k for using various copyright pics not sure where a forum would stand with these companies but not worth the risk allowing it. If Alex James wanted to use one of these companies he would have every right to and it can end up very costly for the person doing it. Just some friendly advise no handbag swinging . From an oulton park thread to copyright pics thread you can tell we are all bored roll on 2015
