Can't make this one Matt, it's one thing doing a track day after my nights, but even I'll be taking the Pi££ if I go AWOL mid shift, although I could probably try and book it down as training, what about defensive driving? Are you riding, or spectating?
Sorry, missed this. I agree Matt, nothing beats listening to those bike screaming past the pit lane, certainly sets the hairs standing up on the back of the neck. It's even better sat on one
Work and Wifey making demands on my time, as per! It's not helping that I'm off to Ireland with the Lads on a weeks biking tour so I'm getting 'beat up' with that also............
Well you missed a great day mate especially for me, yes i decided to give it ago and im still buzzing.... This for me was a one off on my road bike but im now more determined than ever to get a track bike..... So my experience was as follows. Firstly and Jase was there for this i only just passed the noise test, well to be precise i failed it by a tiny margin but they must have been in a good mood as they let me pass.. I only did the 3 afternoon sessions as a novice as this is my first ever time out.. Session 1, was a question of learning the track and instructions given during the safety brief. We were told not to undertake anyone when going into a corner, if we wanted to overtake then do it on the straights. So i was a little surprised when following someone much slower into a bends we would then get undertaken time and time again. What surprised me was how slow other riders were into the bends, at least 3/4 times i nearly ran into the back of someone because i wasn't expecting them to be going so slow through the bends. Im sure some of them almost stopped before they turned. This threw me because they were then more difficult to pass on the straights so i kept getting stuck behind slower riders only to be undertaken by faster ones so i was a little disappointed the first time if im honest... Session 2, after speaking to Scooby after the first session about undertaking on bends i went out for the second session in a completely different frame of mind, that being, as long as its safe undertake, overtake whatever is required and thats what i did. Holy **** i really did enjoy the second session and as far as im aware i overtook everyone and really got some quick laps in (quick for me).. It was amazing and i was pushing harder and harder....... Session 3, Same as session 2 but getting quicker and quicker as much as i knew i couldn't afford to drop my new blade it didn't slow me down, with every bend i was trying harder to get lower and quicker and this is the reason i won't take my blade on again because i will just push and push until im either falling off or breaking lap records and theres very little chance the latter will ever happen..... All in all a fantastic day, i was already hooked but now im propa addicted Here a few photo's, sadly there not very good as they were all taken from my first session when i was riding crap
Lmao, was that her name Daz?? The lid is a little battered and bruised now but by far the best lid ive ever had and will be replacing it like for like....
Renna was her name yeah. She night have a new one tho now she's been adopted ha. Sp is called sienna lol
Made up for you Matt! Sorry I missed you losing ya 'Track Virginity' Told ya it would be the Slippery Slope of expense once you've wazzed ya Blade round a Track. Only had my Blade on track the once and was straight on Flebay that night with CASH to BURN!
I just don't have the cash mate, anyone up to rob a bank????? I will volunteer to be the get away driver
Matt you picked a great day for it mate and really happy you had a top afternoon but now you have had a taste you will sell your soul to get that next fix.Sounds like you are making the right decision about not using your blade as you know best how you ride so just find a trackbike over the winter as you said and get ready for next year. In the meantime keep coming down to trackdays as it's amazing what you can learn just by talking to people as everyone in the garages always seems happy to talk bikes even though it will be even harder now when watching as you know what you are missing out on .
Aint that the Truth! My Mrs say's that her recent preventions of my participation is like a Coke head having a Month at The Priory!
