Whose going? Booked the Double deal my self for £169! ........................just gota tell Wifey now!
Stripping bike down tonite, welding front subframe up at work tomoro, once that's back on and my fairings arive/I gaffer tape the current one's into a usable condition I'll be ready to go. Oh, need to dig the rest of the grass out of the bike too
You should keep the grass and plant it, as a sort of memorial to Cadwell. I had enough stones in my bellypan from my off at Oulton to make a rather nice footpath at home. I didn't manage to salvage the grass from inside the exhaust system as it had baked itself, so I don't think it would have done very well as the start of a lawn project.
Yeah true still dont feel like ive used up all my lives yet tho cos monday wasnt rider error apart from poor maintenance i suppose lol
I wouldn't say poor maintenance, but it is amazing how much time between races is tinkering, fiddling and fettling. and that is without even crashing. I am now getting it down to a fine art doing an oil and filter change every time.
Yeah im tempted to ask on tdr forum if anyone else has had a gsxr throttle stick on but its a bit embarassing really init
Aslong as i dont do what you did at oulton on the 2nd ill be happy haha. Lookin forward to fast group cant believe how much better it was at cadwell in the right group
I wouldn't go for a piss around the back of the caravan at Oulton either. Oh, not what you meant. Don't do that or the falling off thing. Neither is great. Being in the right group does make a difference for sure. I am in the inters to start with as I want to spend some time setting up without getting in people's way, but will move to fast after a session or 2.
Yeah cool man, fast last time there looked pretty quick but I thought that about cadwell and when you're out there with em it doesn't seem as mental
I didnt get overtaken once in the dry, in the wet was a different story i might as well of been going backwards
So... PROBLEM WITH STICKING THROTTLE- Solved! Hoefully.. Took my bike to bits and thought I'd have a look, the cable that returns the throttle was so slack that it was hardly doing anything, the throttle cable itself was very tight. I reset both the adjustment jacking screws by the throttle rocker and made them level, then from here I took the slack out of the throttle but maintained the tightness in the return cable by jacking that too. I kept comparing it to the throttle on the blade. There is still some throttle play but I'm going to tweak the adjusters near the front brake lever. Also the two throttle cables had been fed up and under the brake lever, this meant that they were almost at a right angle to where they feed into the throttle barrel assembly, when I manipulated it in this position (Especially on right lock) the return cable got jammed, stopping the throttle from rolling off. I removed the throttle barrell and everything and cleaned and regreased it, it was full of what I can only describe as black shit, as if someone had wiped the clip on with an oily rag, placed the cables above the brake etc. allowing them free movement and reassembled the whole thing. Fingers crossed, its solved. Will find out at oulton!!! On a more positive note im buying replacement 2nd hand fairings on friday and I found one of my intake rubbers so only require one of them .
I can't remember if we have to book a garage, as it has been a year virtually since I did a track day. If needs be I can go and grab a garage on the Tuesday night, unless anybody doing the day on Tuesday itself can grab one. Just as a quick numbers thing, there is me and 2 mates coming along.
I reckon we won't be alble to book a garage for the 2nd with it been a 2 day event the last 2 day one I did there it was packed and at the price there charging reckon we will stuggle for a garage. I have a generator and gazebo which would fit 2 bikes and generator will do 2 sets of tyre warmers of needed .
